I've heard that Blaine is Jewish, but he has this giant crucifixion tattoo on his back: Furthermore, when he stood atop a pole for 34 hours, he compared himself to the stylites. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StylitePeace.

when you find this out let me know. I am surprised at his reference to stylites. There is something very dark about him that offended my spirit even as a protestant-I still feel a quelling in the same region as far as he is concerned.
Maybe it's because of his direction and my knowledge/background of occultic practices? (no I wasn't in them, just nearly sacrificed because of them) don't know why he bothers me

Who is the man on the cross? For all we know, it could be Blaine himself.

It's copied from Christ of Saint John of the Cross by Salvador Dali.

The world's coolest magician:
I'm not surprised he's cool- he's got practically nothing on. Doesn't anyone wear vests anymore?

Does anyone else find that David Blaine is a bit... disturbing? Or is it just me?

I think he's hecka cool. But I do find the sound of his voice, at times, disturbing.

Disturbing is a good way to put it. I'd say more that he belongs to the religion of worshipping himself.

Yup...and I don't think his real life version is that far off.

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.
