Today I tried to use my usual book mark to get here and got a Geocities page that the place I wanted didn't exist..it was geocities/anastasios something or other.  OK, so I get to the Home here and make a new book mark. Went away, used the mark and got an error page from here that I should fill in a user name.  Any ideas as to what happened/I'm doing wrong/why the forum doesn't like me anymore?  Smiley

Wonky? I have never heard of that word. What does it exactly mean?

Ebor, if you got that page, your bookmark must be to Byzantines.org instead of OrthodoxChristianity.net

That's rather bizarre.

As long as you're pointing to:
http://www.orthodoxchristianity.net/newboard/
you should be as kosher as a Jewish rabbi.

<<Wonky? I have never heard of that word. What does it exactly mean? >>

With us - wonky= going wrong

as in --when I lost icons from my menubar the laptop had gone wonky
and
when my optical mouse froze - it had gone wonky
and when Ebor lost his method of getting to OCNet - it had gone wonky.

'wonky' is a very technical term - like  ' thingie'

Thank you Nicholas and Robert. The book mark had worked before and I have now wrestled it into what I think is proper working order again.  Gremlins...that's what it is.  Unless there's a House Elf causing trouble.  Cheesy

Thanks also to The Slave for explaining the work "wonky" and how it is a technical term. ( along with thingummy, and widget) My language has alot of different bits in it. Possibly picked  up from my father who was stationed in England during WWII, or from my fondness for British comedy (Spike Milligan, Monty Python, etc.) or from what I read.  (I'll try to to mention "Vegemite"... Cheesy )

I see that I am now a realio, true-lio full member btw. Maybe that was what made the bookmark curdle.

Friends,

I had to ditch byzantines.org since Google was thinking it was the main url of our site.  It used to be, but not now obviously.  The Geocities site has a message that says "please change your bookmark to orthodoxchristianity.net"

Thanks for explaining.  I was wondering just *what* I'd done to the bookmarks that it went wrong. So it wasn't me after all.
