I'm hoping this is just playful banter. Otherwise, I'll be locking it.

Well, I DID put a smiley face after my comment. Besides, who would be silly enough to be offended by a comment from a stranger on an internet message board?

I voted "pretty good". Most times I "love it", but I'm a bit over worked as of late, so I was forced to downgrade my rating.

Considering that the thread title "Job career/satisfaction" it seems that *work* is what the topic is, not EO. Ebor

To be fair, while TomS may be on the liberal side, his posistions arn't too far outside the mainstream I have observed in many Orthodox Parishes, I think he's only a radical when it comes to 'Internet Orthodoxy.'

I am happy where I am, or where God seems to want me to be right now.
For the last two years I had looked for another job, but not through prayerfull seeking of God's Will. All the doors I sought to go through were closed; there was one job I really wanted and was qualified for, but the company chose not to interview me.
For whatever reason, God wants me where I am for the time being and so I praise Him for that job He has given me. I am content.
Truly, He is good and loves mankind!

My job is to study Orthodox theology, go to Church, teach a bunch of grad students Ancient Greek, teach a mess of inner-city kids Latin, and edit faculty theological manuscripts for publication. (That makes me a special kind of geek, I suppose, but it still kicks major bootay.)

I love my job---I am a social worker who is also a Subdeacon in the Antiochian Orthodox Church. In my parish I get to use my skills to develop programs for the catechumen using my interview skills to help direct them in their studies, I help Father with various resources needed to help parishioners needing to interface with hospitals, social agencies, and government entities to get their needs met. I get to publish a 20 page newsletter every month.
I Love my job!
