"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"

Lord have mercy on the people living in the City on this day, on the priest who was interrupted while celebrating the Holy Liturgy, and on those who did the attacking- the Turks in this case and the Crusaders before them.

"Eparthen i Romania" (Romania is taken) (a more traditional version can be downloaded from here: Eparthen i Romania).
A traditional  Pontic dirge for the fall of the Roman Empire (Romania). It is probably composed late 15th-early 16th century in the Pontic dialect (the Pontic Empire of Trebizond/Trapezous, fell 8 years later, in 1461).

Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison.

Thanks Fr. Chris for this; I had intended to do so, but came on too late this evening, and was so pleased to see the commemoration had been posted.  And to Timos, for reminding us to pray for the tiny remnant, who still hail from "I Poli!"
