"Thank you for smoking" - now in theatres
« on: May 27, 2006, 11:45:45 PM »
Well, just got back from seeing "Thank you for smoking" with my folks, and it was a very good flick.  For those who haven't heard the premise, the movie follows the life of the lead lobbyist for Big Tobacco, his attempts to do his spin, travels, his relationship with his son, etc.  An excellent satire on the world of big corporation and government.

Who's seen it?  I just wanted to get this out there, to see what people thought...
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that “my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."" Isaac Asimov
