I guess this is where John Carpenter got his inspiration for Prince of Darkness. Lol at slovenic computer became a real devil god.

Philip K. Dick would have loved this
Quote from: Fr. Thomas Hopko, dystopian parable of the prodigal son
...you can imagine so-called healing services of the pigpen. The books that could be written, you know: Life in the Pigpen. How to Cope in the Pigpen. Being Happy in the Pigpen. Surviving in the Pigpen. And then there could be counselling, for people who feel unhappy in the pigpen, to try to get them to come to terms with the pigpen, and to accept the pigpen.

There actually is a book of Philip Dick's writing of his strange visions that he had, in February and March 1974. I have a copy.

Francis E. Dec's other rants are excellent and all worth reading. He basically ruined conspiracy theories for me. Nothing else is as insane or interesting as a Dec rant.

Golly, does this remind me of the good old days when paranoid schizophrenics had to type with manual typewriters and carbon paper, then mail their rants...

Don't worry, they still do.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

My experience has been that they now prefer MS Word, with its wide array of fonts and effects, including BOLD, italic, underline, and LARGE.

I've got a file that's more than a foot thick full of letters just like that from the same person.

I just read the fan club page.

I need to work harder.    :o

The real question is whether or not he's a non-actuary member of the Society of Actuaries?   ;)

Hey!  There's audio!

These recordings were my first exposure to Dec, when a friend lent me a tape. I was suffocating from all the laughter, so much so that I suspect that tape was in fact a deadly communist nefarious gangster death device.

Reminds me of James InmanWarning: volume and content.

Even more interesting than the exegesis is the alleged event itself: a pink laser transmitting Gnosticism!  It becomes less interesting alas when one contemplates the letters "LSD."  By the way, I lament that conspiracy theorists by nature would reject even complementary instruction in typography, so that even in that bastion of elegant design, Seitzerland, one cannot look forward to elegant conspiracy theories; I think these forums would probably look better (slightly) if they took away our formatting options.
Axios and many years to you, Fr. Trenham!
