Praying with my 9-year old sister from any one of our 4 orthodox prayer books, and 1 traditional catholic 1 is no easy feat. It's like me trying to analyze Shakespeare on the spot. Maybe most of you can do that but I sure can't unless its a play I've done....anyhow:

Are there any books for purchase or prayers online which are in children's language or adult language but which children can easily comprehend?

I had an orthodox childrens prayer book by a traditional Russian Orthodox church in the US but ironically it had thou's and thy, and cans't, knowest....definitely not children material.

I find that every single prayer we pray, I have to prepare by taking it, watering it down linguistically, half fearing that by so doing I'm not knowingly also watering it down theologically, or perhaps making it into some weird heresy. I then add small icons or colours and then print it off to make it easier to pray.

I know light-n-life has some really nice children's titles but then again their prices on many items are just rediculous.

I've ordered "Walking in Wonder: Nurturing Orthodox Christian Virtues in Your Children" by Elizabeth White but I don't know if it's any good or not
