Syrian Orthodox Position on the "Stigmata Phenomena"
« on: February 20, 2006, 09:32:27 AM »
I recently heard about a case of stigmata involving a Syrian lady named Myrna, which is apparently quite well-known. The only position i've read on the issue of stigmata from an OO perspective is that given by His Grace Bishop Youssef, who, although refusing to take a conclusive or official stance on the matter, implies in his reference to the studies undertaken on the matter by modern scientists, that it is most likely just a physical illness rather than a divine miracle. Considering Myrna's apparent popularity, I was wandering if the Syrian Orthodox Church has spoken on the matter.
