Several Orthodox Christian parishes in the Austin Texas area will March for Life  at a Rally to be held 01-28-2006. The march is a family event and not a confrontational-type demonstration. It will begin at Republic Square at 1pm; we will walk down Congress Avenue to the capitol grounds where there will be several speakers at 2pm. My parish has been advised to wear a shirt that identifies you as an Orthodox Christian and be ready to sing a lot.

If any of you are near come join us.

Thomas

I'm glad to hear the Orthodox mobilizing in such a way.  May God bless your efforts!
"If you are going to serve the Lord, be prepared for times when you will be put to the test. Be sincere and determined. Keep calm when trouble comes. Stay with the Lord; never abandon Him and you will be prosperous at the end of your days. Accept whatever happens to you. Even if you suffer humiliation, be patient. Gold is tested by fire and human character is tested in the furnace of humiliation. Trust the Lord and He will help you. Walk straight in His ways and put your hope in Him. " Sir 2:1-6

Despite Rain that cleared in time for the March. We had a successful March for Life.  For the first time, THe Orthodox Christians were well represented as a group and no one that attended can say that the Orthodox Church is not Pro-life. A big step for the church in an area that we are quite the minority.
