I gave up dreaming a long time ago...

« on: January 17, 2006, 11:05:15 AM »

Okay, it's not THAT serious. I just started a diet and gym so I need your prayers.
I recall an elder of Mount Athos saying that it is a sin to eat too much and
that we eat to live, not live to eat. So I need help. I have met a really beautiful
(orthodox too! Grin) girl and things seem to turn around for me (God willing).

Please pray for my diet and most of all that everything works out in my life.
It is going to be a hard year for me (since I have to study to get into college, etc.)

Thank you.
Dominus Vobiscum (I tried to think of something less catholic but I hope this is ok).

Ten years have passed, the girl I loved
is now a woman, but I am still a child...

Armando, paidi mou,

I rejoice in your post!

You have had the prayers of many, including my most unworthy self.

Most importantly, keep on the path of God and forsake ANYTHING which might be of the evil one: ouija boards, fortune telling, etc...

I pray a heartfelt prayer for you and for other young people who are overweight, because it is not an easy struggle when one's genes are against them...I know this from one of my own children. I pray that you will continue to have the strength to eat healthfully (Greece has wonderful healthful foods as well as the fattening ones: stay away from the pastitsio and the moussaka which are very fattening), to eat in moderate amounts, and to exersize. Good luck and God be with you! You will find that the formula for losing weight, (although a difficult discipline in the beginning), in time, will also alleviate depression. Remember to take a multi vitamin each day too! Smiley

Me agapi en Hristo!

Sure, I'll pray for you.
