I came across
this Article
on the website of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. Basically, the Author (a respected Orthodox Theologian in Australia) takes the position that the subtext of the television series
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
presented several Orthodox Theological concepts concerning the Orthodox view of evil, compassion, humanity, the afterlife etc. A fascinating read!

great article! and timely for me, since i have plans to watch the entire series as soon as i can (a friend of mine owns it on dvd)...i watched the show while i was in high school then drifted from it, only to return for the finale (although some of what was goin on was lost on me)...but i recently had evidence to believe there is so much in this show that i missed, and i really wanna go back and give it a shot. it's always nice to be validated by a member of the clergy who understands the world from an Eastern Christian perspective. thanx for sharing!

I own the entire collection, and though I don't particularly like this genre, I enjoyed watching the series. However, towards the end, it got redundent, and I like "Angel" much better... I was HIGHLY disapointed when WB cancelled that series.

Now where were we? Oh yeah - the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
