I'm working on preserving my liver by pickling it.  That way, it will be preserved longer when they do the transplant.  I'm very considerate about such things.  ;D

That makes perfect sense to me.  Pickles last a long time.

They lose their crunchiness after a while though. You want to keep your liver crunchy.

True, but still edible.  As long as the center is crisp, it's ok for transplant.  I think the surgeon tests it out to make sure.

anyone remember that one thread from that one poster from that one time where he asked if he can dress up like a monk with a robe in church?

where is this thread?

I want to read it for good times sake

That poster was, funnily enough, the guy who posted directly above you  8) Here's the thread.

thank you! and oh would have never imagined, i think it is from the profile picture of that poster, of a girl, for some reason I imagine him being a girl because of it.

and mor ephraim to be some kind of egyptian pharoah patriarch thing

and alpo to be some role playing person who likes to dress up in late style bishop clothes

Why not put it up for auction here at oc.net, with the money going to charity? As the Gospel truly says: "Greater love has no one than this: to give up one's liver for one's friends."

I would, but it is against the law to sell one's organs.  I must begrudgingly submit to the rule of law on this one.

I know a lawyer, one Saul Goodman, who knows a guy who knows a guy, who can help with this. You just stay off the drink until the deal is done, then we'll talk more. If someone shows up at your house and does some "diagnostic testing," just go along with it, ok?

Fun fact of the day: the city of Liberal, Kansas votes overwhelmingly Republican (70.5% in the last presidential election). You can't always judge a book by its cover.

Or a city by its signs. That Austrian place we all know about tops that list. ;)

Someone called me three times today, from a number with the same area code as me, but I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. The fourth time I did answer, and someone who sounded like a little girl asked, "Who is this?" I replied and she hung up. I tried calling back but it said the number had been disconnected.

Tried calling the same number with someone else's phone and it went through to voicemail. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

We were plagued by a family of mice a couple of years ago. We tried the humane traps with peanut butter, but they were too smart for them. I didn't want sprung traps because I didn't want to have to clean blood and guts first thing in the morning. Eventually, we had to put down poison. It worked well, within a couple of days - two of them liked the bait so much that they died still inside the containers. But there was one, the smallest, who didn't eat enough to die quickly and thrashed about the kitchen floor for a couple of hours. I don't ever want to deal with that again. :'(

When I was a child, we had field mice come in our house and we used glue traps.  That was really bizarre having to throw out a live mouse into the forest.  The box said the glue degrades so the mouse eventually escapes.  I'm not so sure about that.  Better a spring trap than starving to death.

Ratatouille? ;D

An excellent side with a char-grilled rat, seasoned with herbes de Provence.  And a nice Rhone red wine to drink.  But for a rat stuffed with peanut sauce, perhaps a nice Thai-inspired salad, dressed with fresh kumquat juice/fish sauce.  The rat in this case would also be grilled, but the sweetness of the peanut will offset the acidity and strength of the sauce.  For this, Chang beer will pair wonderfully with its soft mouthfeel and pleasant effervescence.

So yesterday at catechism class, I met a cute girl who goes to a community college in Mississippi. She actually initiated conversation with me after class, which is super rare and a really pleasant surprise. She mentioned that she was going to Vespers tonight, and that I really ought to come. Now, I have an evening class on Wednesdays, and while Vespers didn't directly conflict with it, I was pretty behind on the reading. But I decided to go anyway. I got her number and got an A on the exam. And worshiping God and stuff.

It was a good, good day.

A relationship/dating/whatever success story. On oc.net.  :o 8) ;D  Good job!

It's hard to seriously consider [a position], or even taken [that position] seriously, when you can't stand most of the people who hold to [that position]. It's like [that position] turns people into butthats... though perhaps it's that butthats are just naturally attracted to [that position].

As for what made me annoyed this morning, put "atheism" in the brackets.

I would say the latter is more often the case.  For those that are already butthats, they become more butthatish.

I think we might be twins seperated at birth.  :P
