I have lost 35 pounds in six months.

Are you feeling OK?

Most definitely.  It needed to be lost.

How did you do it?!

Eating less, and fewer times a day.  Also, cutting out two-thirds of the soda and other surgery drinks I consumed.

Wait. Consuming significantly fewer calories causes weight loss?

No.

Way.

Next thing ya know they'll be saying drinking less alcohol can prevent liver damage, this is unacceptable!

- When going to the supermarket, make sure to go on a full stomach. Also make up your mind about what to buy and what not to buy before you go, and stick with the list as much as possible. Avoid the chips and candy aisles altogether if at all possible. Also consider parking far away from the door, as sort of a mental cue that you need to avoid simply given in to what's easiest or would make you most happy in the moment, at the cost of long-term success.

- For snacks, try to pick something lower in calories, or at lest nutritious. It doesn’t have to taste like crap, though. For example, I eat sugar free Jello cups that have 10 calories per cup, and sugar free pudding cups that have 60 calories per cup, and both taste perfectly fine. Or you could have some fruit, whether an apple or orange or plum, or even eating a pound of strawberries instead of a TV dinner (they both cost about the same price, at least at times). Vegetables are also generally low in calories, so munching on celery or carrots would be helpful, and incorporating more vegetables into your meals would help take the place of foods with more calories to them.

- If you drink regular soda, consider changing things a bit. If you can switch to diet, or switch to water, that’d be good. If not, think about trying to cut your soda drinking in half. If you don’t like diet, maybe you could drink a bit of orange or apple juice, or V8 drinks.

Well what are you eating?  Eat more filling foods (for me things like broccoli and apples) and eat lower calorie foods.

"So you're a Biblical inerrantist, Calvinist, postmillenialist, young earth creationist, credobaptist, presuppositionalist, cessationist, Protestant?

Well, I'm just Orthodox I guess."

Didn't know where else to put this, but it came to me while seeing so many Protestant profiles with all the "-ist" words to describe their particulars. It's a bit of a caricature, but I think it shows something interesting... whatever that may be.
