Note to self: don't drink too much goldschlager mixed with vodka again.

Best advice I ever heard, courtesy of my brother: "Don't mix your alcohols."

Cocktails are for sissies. Alcohol should be enjoyed straight up. Except gin, which is only good as an antiseptic.

Bernard de Voto asserted that there were only two acceptable "cocktails": the Dry Martini, and whiskey on the rocks, with or without bitters. The Martini should be mixed in the proportion 3.7/1, though proportions up to 4/1 were permissible. I can't remember if he was particular about olives or twists; Robert Bork was apparently adamant that he did not want a salad in his drink.

Talisker is the only whisky I've had that benefits from rocks. Laphroaig, Caol Ila, Royal Brackla, and Speyside are all perfectly good neat. I got a Lagavulin on rocks once, but there were far too many rocks. I don't think most bartenders drink single malt to know the difference.

That show is The Real World re-invented. Oddly, it's more realistic than The Real World.

Polish political ad...striptease...Polish people are strange. (Might be considered offensive)

Just like the title implies, what's posted above is a video of a woman doing a striptease. It also doubles as a campaign video. Apparently, the goal was "to draw the attention of the media." Boobs definitely do that, although she technically doesn't get naked in this tease of a campaign spot. Instead, a big "CENSORED" logo pops up just as we're getting to the main attraction.

The text at the end translates to "You want more? Vote SLD!" You might recognize this as the exact blueprint for every GoDaddy.com ad ever made.

Can someone tell me what the word is when describing favoritism in a company with friends? The one for families is nepotism.

I think cronyism is the word?
