If there were no internet, there would be a whole lot less people spouting obscure canons at each other.  We would have to find other reasons to anathemize each other.

Spoken like a man who crosses himself with three fingers.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

After many weeks I finally got my pocket watch working again. It isn't easy messing with all those small parts. At least I'll be able to know what time is it when I go outside. Luckily I didn't have much reason to go outside with the summer vacation.

Thanks. That explains a lot of things. Actually pretty much everything.

With what kind of clothes you're wearing it? I had one until I lost it. Now I'm using a crappy second hand watch. Not as fancy but it's easier to combne with more casual clothes. Also, it's annoying trying to dig a pocket watch from your pockets when you're wearing too slim jeans.

This is quite easily fixed.

The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

If one wants to confess a pure doctrine of Orthodoxy, they should be careful not to refer to the earth as a planet, unlike the current Pope as well as Patriarch Kirill and Patriarch Bartholomew, who regularly speak in error when they refer to our planet earth.

I've worn too slim jeans for so long that I actually don't like regular male jeans anymore. I don't feel at home when I'm wearing those.  :P

How can you not love this fashion trend?

Nothing wrong with the slimness but one shouldn't roll the legs. It looks ridiculous.

Not to mention that kind of sneakers. If you have to wear sneakers at least buy a proper pair.

Either in the pocket of a waistcoat, with the chain going through one of the button holes or, lacking a waistcoat, in a pocket of my trousers, with the clip attached to one of my belt loops.

There's one mistake though. It's not "the main cathedral of the Finnish Orthodox Church." It's not the seat of our Archbishop.

Gender roles are boring. Many people don't really conform to them but for some reason seem to identify with them. I've never really understood why.

I conform to them because wearing those jeans would require me to castrate myself in order to make space and wear them comfortably.

I really despise the whole ice bucket challenge fad.

considering its seriously injured at least two people......

Has it really?
buckets of water can be dangerous when you drop them on your head.  Especially if you have been recently vaccinated.
The term planet earth is an innovation which has arisen in recent centuries with the error of heliocentrism.

All opinions expressed by myself are quite tragically my own, and not those of any other poster or wall hangings.

That doesn't bother me. It is just the annoyance of millions of people dumping water on their head for no other reason than someone said it is for ALS.

Hey, why doesn't everyone stick a boot up their bum for hotchkins lymphoma?  It will help about as much.

Just returned from a fantastic vacation in the beautiful Finger Lakes of NYS, and brought back some fantastic wines from the area.

Also, Corning Glass museum was fun as well

on that note, i should make/resurrect the NYS thread

Kermit the Frog's, Charlie Sheen's and George W. Bush's challenges were quite amusing.

Please do!
Quote from: Fr Alexander Schmemann
The Gospel is quite clear: both saints and sinners love God. "Religious" people do not love him, and whenever they can, they crucify him.

Of course, OC.net is not reflective of the Church, but is rather a surreal bubble. I have visited a lot of different parishes around the world and have listened to many hours of AFR...

I just spent the last week in Corning! Did you make it to Market Street while you were in town? And what lakes did you visit?
O Virgin pure, immaculate, O Lady Theotokos
Rejoice, O unwedded Bride!
O fleece bedewed with every grace, O Virgin Queen and Mother
Rejoice, O unwedded Bride!
