This could be an historical first.  I just saw where, based on his participation in an internet forum, a guy admitted to being wrong and changed his mind.  Unbelievable!

Of course, I read this on the internet, so it's probably not true.
Oh, NO! The whole fabric of the cosmos is coming unraveled! The earth is going to crumble into dust and ashes! :o

When it doesn't happen, will you admit to being wrong?

Oh, no!  A pop quiz.  I've always hated these.

First question: Is it true that the sufficiency of attrition is not enough for even the penitent confessor to overcome the antidisestablishmentarianism of one's dispensationalistic concept of theistic determinism?

I must say, the "Grand Unification" thread, although I haven't read all of it, and I don't want to comment there lest I am a subscriber, when I really have no desire to read it at all, but every time dattaswami posts his comments, I imagine the sitar in the background playing.

Merry Christmas  ;D

Little child's logic:  Why do Orthodox celebrate Christmas later than other Christians?  So that Santa Claus doesn't get overwhelmed with too many houses.

I didn't want to derail a just-started thread, so I'll say this here:

Upon seeing the title "Shared Byzantine Rite and Western Rite Calendar and Fasts?" on a thread my first reaction was:

"Silly.  You share a FEAST.  Fasting you keep to yourself."
"Funny," said Lancelot, "how the people who can't pray say that prayers are not answered, however much the people who can pray say they are."  TH White

Oh, no: I've succumbed to Hyperdoxy!

I don't know how much snow we have but temperature is about -20°C. About a week ago it was -30°C. Maybe I should grow somekind of winter fur or something. At least a furry tail would be nice.

Whoa - I just went to do my workout at "Curves" (an exercise place for women) and went to a different location than usual.  Noticed the older lady working out opposite me looked awfully familiar, but it wasn't till I was about halfway through that I realized who she was:  it was Shirley Jones!!!

No, but that would have been funny!  :)

I got "celebrity tongue tied" so didn't really know what to say to her once I recognized her - just smiled like an idiot!

Someone should write a book about "what to say when you meet a celebrity" - I never know!

Ahh. To ski or not to ski. That is the question one must answer tomorrow.
Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.

If you're alive, and willing to learn, then you're always at school.  Of course, most of this general schooling has no need for chalkboards ;)
