Why why do you want to talk with people who are religious?

Why don't you go on a humanistic website where you will be accepted.

You should not have to come here to talk with us.

Its nice speaking with a mere man, but have you ever thought about speaking with the Most High God?

This one goes out to all the Athiests

Psalm 100:3

Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Psalm 19

1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

2Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

3There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

4Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

5Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

6His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

7The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

8The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

9The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

11Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

12Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

13Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

14Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

That's what our God says about idle speech. Just so you know. We are Christians(I like to believe myself to be one, I am Baptized, though unworthy of it).

I'm gonna hit with some scriptures are you ready?....

Here it is...

1Cor 15:33

29 Otherwise, what will they do who are baptized for the dead, if the dead do not rise at all? Why then are they baptized for the dead? 30 And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? 31 I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. 32 If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. 34 Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

Just some random thoughts regarding Mr. Death, (LOL, call my son that also, he's a drummer in a death metal band-ugh!!!). Just speaking for myself only. Me thinks Mr. Death is a youngster, early 20's maybe, maybe recently "converted", and "on fire for the Lord" so to speak. Hasn't quite mastered the fine  art of think twice, act(speak, post) once),  Smiley  Way of thinking was radically changed, so being young and radical............ ? Mr. Death is on a mission, baby (think of it as rather a journey). Probably one of his grandparents favorites. If more young people had that fire for God, within the Orthodox Church, think of the possibilities. A thorn in some of our sides for now on this forum,  but his future? Could be awesome. His  baby steps are just a little different than some of ours.I would hate it some still held me accountable for what I was doing at that age.  Hasn't quite fully realized how some of his posts appear to some of the posters on this site, (easy to forget that there are actual people posting, not just some internet site) Mr D, am I way off base here?  (I am assuming your male, if you"re female, please forgive, and replace Ms, and her for Mr. and him) Just give him some fishing line, even if some of his posts seem to be needed to be reeled in at times! Smiley Smiley  (Can you tell I'm so ready to be fishing again after our awful winter here in the midwest?)  Just some random thoughts that are entirely my own and do not reflect any thing else. How about you Mr. D? Care to go fishing? Seriously? Lots of good can come out of a day of fishing, (especially if nothing is biting, trust me, I know, there is a lot of time to mull things over)

I suspect "Death to the World" is a new alias for the erstwhile "Get Behind Me Satan," who was banned. I'm not sure why he was banned, but I'm glad he's back under a new name (if indeed my theory is correct.) Sure, he frequently interjects threads with Scriptures, Patristic references, links to Orthodox sermons and texts, etc.- even on lighthearted threads such as this one. While  I sometimes find it annoying, I also realize that my reaction reveals a flaw in my spiritual character, not his. Personally, I hope he never grows out of these "baby steps." We should all be so "immature" in the Faith. For indeed Our Lord told us to come to Him as little child. May his fire never grow cold!

Its very true that endless reproofs is annoying, even St Dorotheos of Gaza tells us this.

I think I need to take a step back for a while and focus on my own faults and not try to teach others until I myself become fit for such teaching.

That is why I am going to read carefully all the way through the book I just got in the mail, 'Orthodox Psychotherapy'  I just read the first chapter and it talks about how the church is a hospital, and about how we all need this healing, and how the book will help us to become a more pure vessel to partake of the eucharist, through watchfulness and reading the book.

The book is mostly based on the Neptic Father of the Philokalia, i'm so enthralled to be reading it.
Because it will help to cure me psychologically and spiritually.

St Gregory Palamas said that the person in Theosis already experiences the second coming of Christ, He's already there.

Now exactly how far am I away from the Holiness of Theosis?  Like 20,000 light years. This is our ultimate aim though.

Metropolitan Jonah gives us a very basic, but very good, outline of what Healing, Transformation and Theosis is in this talk:

You're right Gebre I am get_behind_me_satan.

I'm really sorry PeterTheAleut for not being honest, I thought you would ban me again.

I did not  know that duplicate accounts were not allowed. And I was really surprised when I saw I was banned.

If you really wish to, you can ban me again.

It nice to actually speak with people though, and to make our voices heard in certain issues.

I will very well admit that I have been going a little overboard in my posts, but one of the reason for that is because I don't have anybody else to talk to about these things.
I live a whole hour away from any church and the parishoners there are not inclined to discuss anything spiritual.
Coffee hour is more like 'social hour'. They are only human though, I don't blame them, its just ignorance.

It must be really bad in Greece, listen to this:

http://www.philokalia.org/Constantine%20Zalalas/OTF/OTF20A.mp3

I live an hour away from 4 different Eastern Orthodox churches, they are all Greek, except one is Bulgarian.

The Parishoners in the churches don't seem to be immersed in the Orthodox spirituality as I am.
So I have nobody to talk to about these matter.

Except the priests, but I have not been able to get to church or to confession for a while now.

I feel like i'm in a world of my own where I am now, I live with 2 older brothers who are baptized as Orthodox, they say they are Christian, but they smoke weed and are very secular, just like I used to be a little over a year ago...

Its a miracle how my life changed in the way that it did.

I am sorry for lying to your question.  The Lord will reward me according to my deeds.

Eccesiates 12:14
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

I'll calm down and follow the rules this time.
Muted pending ban for violation of forum rules.

Haha!

If anyone wants to talk to me, feel free to PM me. I have yahoo/MSN. To be honest, I'm a bit lonely, so I'm thinking maybe if I get good Orthodox friends, online or not, I'll have better influences too... it's a win-win in my eyes!

If i'm allowed to, I'll just post my MSN address.

I am so mad right now, it's not even funny. I managed to read what two people said about me(describing me as a pest, thinking I was a girl, etc) and they posted it, must of realized i'd read it, and then deleted it. So I guess i'm a pest, and those females are sexist, as payback or something... I just don't get it. I'm so mad  do't even know what to do. More upset than mad, but that's my first reaction.

Remember that episode of the twilight zone in which all the "normal" people looked like hideous pig people, and the "ugly" and "deformed" person looked beautiful? Or how about the bookworm guy with a nagging wife who survives a nuke being dropped, and then he has all the time in the world and all the books he wants, but ends up breaking his glasses and can't see a thing? Yeah... this post has no point to it, that's just what is on my mind at the moment. Thanks for reading. Smiley
