Perhaps sooner if other hot topic subjects crop up?
Oh, God, I hope not. I don't think I could stand another discussion of pews.

Yikes.  Please, no.
Interesting. :-\  Just within a few posts of each other, we have talk of flatulence and pews.  What a combination. :P

1,539 posts away from 300,000.... That's less than a week for us.  Let the various (and creative) countdowns begin!

3 people out of a 100 Bar Trivia Brainiacs (at least half of them teachers) knew the final answer to the final question in the Trivia Maryland competition which I will paraphrase as follows:

Which country has celebrated her Independence Day on March 25 since 1821?

I couldn't believe the shock as I wrote the answer down and sprinted to the host's station.   :o  ;D  :o

I didn't see the root word for 100.  I thought cleveland was calling me the bottom half of a centaur.  I'm profusely sorry.

Sure feels good to have reached Centurion level.  I knew I always had those leadership skills.   ;D  ::)  ;D

Ohio is listed as the 17th state in the U.S. but technically it’s number 47. Until August 7, 1953, congress forgot to vote on a resolution to admit Ohio to the union.

Wasn't the entire Northwest Ordinance admitted as one entity and States were carved out of that territory after the fact?

Does Congress' failure to vote make anything done in Ohio before 1953 null and void?

Your first point is correct.....as to your second....1953 they retroactively passed the resolution....so Ohio was still a state for all those years....

O HI O - Get it, "round on both sides" (the O's), and "high in the middle" (the HI)?

I may be addicted to E-Yahtzee.

Clarification question: To qualify as a straight (either "large" - 5 - or "small" - 4), must the die be in actual order (i.e. 2,3,4,5,6), or can they be mixed up (i.e. 2,5,3,4,6)?
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"
Met. Meletios of Nikopolis & Preveza, from his ordination.

IIRC, they can be mixed up as in your latter example.
