What's amazing in this is that it took OC.net 3.25 years to get from 0 to 100,000 posts, but now it's only taken 2 years and 2 weeks to get from 100,000 posts to the cusp of 200,000.

It's a testament to the new users who have joined the site over the last couple of years!

Did we make it?

Ebor should be proud.... This thread has survived both the push to 100,000 and the push to 200,000.

200,000!

I think I also made the 100,000th post back in the day.  I'm just so glad to have been a part of 2 milestones.  I'd like to thank my agent, all the producers and directors, my parents, my nutritionist, personal trainers, the stunt doubles, my CPA, my investment portfolio guy...

Congratulations on reaching 100,000 posts, oc.net!
I think Dustin, Phil, and Robert deserve many congratulations, and many happy returns!

{edit}
Oh, and I'm not just saying this 'cause I'm a company man... I really enjoy the site, even when the discussions divert off to bottles of beer on the wall...

Good lord, you were doing bottles of beer on the wall back in '05 too?

Congrats to all!  Job well done!

Congrats to all!  Job well done!

It was quite a time.  I think GiC and I combined made over 150 posts that one night (Dec 30), back-and-forth with one another, posting about once every 3/4 of a minute.

But the congratulations go to all, who have made this site so successful and beloved!

If we maintain the 8500+ post per month pace of Nov and Dec, then we'll get it before 2008 is over!

Wow! Has this been the biggest lull ever in posting on this thread?

Who wants to go through the thread to verify an answer to that question?

What about the Great Turkish takeover of 05 was it?? Or the Server Switch??

^^I wouldn't count those, since the Turkish Hacker Incident of '05 was due to this site witnessing so well to the Body of Christ, and the server switches no one could post.

So, was that period the longest voluntary lack of posting on this thread?

4 days?  I think there have been longer ones.  I remember at one point re-resurrecting the thread like 3-4 times after a week long lull...

But I may be exaggerating on the week thing...

Well I could, but I might need a cheap source of excessive quantities of alcohol in the future, so it wouldn't do tick off the Serbs. :P

As long as it isn't Lozovaca (sp?).  Maybe it was a bad brand, but compared to Nonino Grappa...  no comparison.    ;)

I just call it "loza" cuz it's easier that way.

it's not a brand per-say.  It's more of a KIND of shlivo.  It's actually "grappa" as you mentioned, made from grapes.  It's pretty vile, not usually good tasting.

i'm not sure what kind you had, doesn't surprise me that you had a bad experience.

It had the most vile aftertaste.   :P  Though, I have now converted a Serb and Bosnian Serb to grappa instead of it.  Of course, they would be too embarassed to show that in front of their friends so they just pour grappa into a loza bottle, but anyways...  I knew I wasn't any match for Serbian nation pride.

i've had grappa too, and it was WAY better tasting than Loza.

But you aint a Serb unless you drink something disgusting.  why make it taste good?  that would make ENTIRELY too much sense.   ;D ;D

LOL!  It was too funny.  I walked into the kitchen and my fiancee's mom was pouring grappa into this bottle with Cyrillic writing on it and pictures of grapes.  I just watched and she looked up and said "Uhhh.....  It is for my friends, they just wouldn't understand why we do not drink Serbian" in her thick accent.  Then she swore me to secrecy.

Let's be honest...the Serbs need no second bidding to crack the liquor cabinet....I'm sure some of them drink to celebrate the fact that the sky is blue!

There are a few of you folk who actually use them to post on occasion.
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"
Met. Meletios of Nikopolis & Preveza, from his ordination.

LoL, tell me about it.  But it sure helps pass the time in boring lectures.

either:

a.  you have mad skill (which is highly likely)

b.  you are in a HUGE class (also highly likely)

c.  you are the master of deception (i wouldn't recommend this one).

I can NEVER hide my phone in my classes, and I have a SLVR.  But then again, we usually have 10 people in our classes...so....

Some of my classes are huge which make it easy, others we all have computers in front of us, so it is easy to hide.   :P
