http://www.icanhascheezburger.com. Upload a picture of a cat doing something cute, write a caption, and there you have it! You can caption other people's pictures, too, and they yours! So much fun. Next to OCnet, I think she spends more online time there than anywhere else. She's not kidding about the "LOLcat addict" bit.

We're nearly to breaking 195,000. We *Can* do that tonight. Then the question is "Can we do 5,000 posts in the next 8 days and a bit?"

That's 625 posts per day - a lot of hard work. And, to quote the wise originator of this thread, No fair making heaps of one word posts to force things.

I wonder what will happen to all the pictures in this thread in the future? There are a number of threads from a few years ago that had photos in them, and in the process of moving the server and cutting bandwidth and whatever else was going on, they were lost/deleted.

I think it might be a tall order, given that it's the holidays - more people spending time visiting with family and not using the computer.

Okay. My suggestion is to strike up a conversation that is (a) substantive, and (b) easy to respond to rapidly yet fully. No more one-word bonanzas.

We deserved to lose, but it doesn't make it any easier. What is amazing is that they had an outside chance to win the game despite their mistakes.

So even if Pit loses next week and Cle wins, we finished tied in W/L record, but you hold the tiebreaker.

So they lost! Great, that means that at worst, Pittsburgh and Cleveland will tie in the division - and most likely Pittsburgh will win the division.

That really steams me. But I think that was all about the Big Ten network thing - the league wants the network to be on the "Basic" cable package, and the Cable company wants to charge extra.

Okay, Who is Art Model? I'm a Texan, and Have issues with Les Alexander (Rocket's owner) because he can't put together a stable team. Is it the same thing?

That really steams me. But I think that was all about the Big Ten network thing - the league wants the network to be on the "Basic" cable package, and the Cable company wants to charge extra.
Yeah, it was all about the money. The cable company I am on (Youngstown is about half-and-half on the two big cable companies - the north is on one system (Time-Warner), the south (me) is on another (Armstrong)). Armstrong refuses to pay the fees, which requires paying and carrying every game (a substantial chunk of change).

Art Model was the owner of the Browns who moved them to Baltimore after he said he wasn't moving the team. Plus, he started off on the wrong foot, getting into arguments with (legend and Hall-of-Fame-er) Paul Brown and eventually not keeping him, treating Bernie Kosar poorly at the end of his career, not finding the best coaches for the team, and generally not being very personable with the fans.

However, Armstrong is good about carrying some PA/Pit stations (FSN Pit, some of the broadcast networks, etc.).

I get FSP and WQED - but I can't think of any other Pittsburgh stations on the system. FSP is good about broadcasting the Pirate games and (I think) the Penguin games - but not the Steelers. NFL is pretty much major network territory.

The owner of the great HOUSTON OILERS di the same thing. Therefore, they reside in Tennesee, and go by a stupid name of a race of mythical Giants that got slain by their children.

Of course - but the local affiliates (I think) have a say in garnering TV games - if they convince the bosses that the Stillers will get more ratings points than the national game, then you'd see more of them on the Y'town broadcast stations. But you guys get bit by the blackout bug.
