Well, Mr. Y and I shall have to try this!  Can't be any worse than mom's fried squirrel.   ;) :D

The best part of the squirrel is the brain...

(I think it was in this thread that I reminisced on how, when I was a firefighter and had to be on duty on a Sunday, the station captain's wife would drop off a big bag o' squirrel heads for supper for everyone the next day. This was in Kentucky, and a traditional Sunday meal is squirrel heads...)

Sometimes Cap would set up a squeamish, city slicker college student who'd be staying with us, by asking the student to "go out yonder an' see what's in that bag by the door" :o....that was hilarious!

Wow.

I've got an acquaintance who swears by "Beer Butt Chicken", a roasting recipe he learned in southern 'Bama.

But, I do love chicken, and can truly say I'll eat chicken every day of the week if my fasting schedule permitted it!

Hello,

Wow.

I've got an acquaintance who swears by "Beer Butt Chicken", a roasting recipe he learned in southern 'Bama.

I make that, too. Except, here it is call "Beer Can Chicken". I even have a special tool that holds the beer can upright inside the bird's cavity and stands the bird upright on the grill. I picked it up at home depot earlier this year. The chicken comes out so moist and tender.

Interesting.  I'd love to try the recipe some day (maybe you should add it to the "feasting recipes" thread in the Family Forum).

Lousy excuse.  What do you have?  DOGM 3?  Pastoral Care?  Ethics?  Some elective with Bebis?  C'mon!

Actually for your information here is how it lays out:

Dog. 3
Dog. 2
Ethics
Gospel of John

A paper for Dog 3, another paper for Hospital Ministry, paperwork for that in general, 2 reflections for Pastoral Care, 2 reflections for Ethics, all of Gospel of John readings and journal, plus I work 20 hours a week.

Bebis isn't until next semester.  good ole' "required elective in greek"  fun times.
I got nothing.
I forgot the maps
March 27th and May 30th 2010 were my Ordination dates, please forgive everything before that

You've been putting the work off 'till the last minute, huh?  Nice.  I remember those days (wait... that was only 2 years ago!).  Look at it this way - your senior year won't be nearly this difficult.  Look forward to your future, adelphe!

Hello,

Yup, I'm from Boardman. What Church do your grandparents attend (if any)?

They switch between St. John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church in Boardman on Glenwood, and Archangel Michael in Cambell.  But they live close to the intersection of Shields and Glenwood.

A warm shoutout to my parish! I was to meet a friend for dinner tonight at a Thai restaurant. While I was waiting outside, he texted me saying that he was going to be about 20 minutes late. My church happens to be across the street from the Thai place, so I thought I would drop in there for some quiet prayer before the Blessed Sacrament.

Well, lo and behold, I stumbled upon Compline and Benediction in progress---and chanted in Latin! I had forgotten that this goes on at 8:45pm every night at St. Clement's. They also do the Rosary and Vespers at 5pm every day, among much else.

St. Clement's is no SSPX parish or some traditionalist ghetto. It's an ordinary church in the middle of the city made up mostly of twenty- and thirty-somethings and college students. It is a joy to be simply and gloriously Catholic there!

So many thanks to God and to St. Clement's!

"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"

Get your fresh roasted peanuts!
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, may Jesus Christ bless you abundantly.

Pray that we may be one, as Christ and His Father are one. (John 17:20ff)
