How much traction does this sort of thing actually have with people who speak Spanish as a first language?

Not much.  It's all coming from politicized academics in the US and woke folks south of the border eat it up like it's a thing.

I've seen x being used in Portuguese by leftists, but I see conservatives using it as a joke more often lol

I don't know why you say this is Spanish when it's English, so it must be a version of Spanglish.

My dream from the last night:
Antiochian metropolitan for Australia (I mean actually his face, he wasn't mentioned by name) was in Balamand giving speech as he was a bishop of the Polish Orthodox Church born in Hajnówka and he has to be send to Australia, tough he personally claims that Australia i s canonical territory of Ukraine.

Late me and one of my Polish Orthodox friends entered a class (it seems, in Poland) and he was giving lecture to mostly non-Orthodox student and said that it's known that my and my friend are Orthodox because of our behaviour toward him. At the lesson he was showing a video with two Finnish Orthodox bishops playing electric guitars.
And he asked for prayers.
Pray for persecuted Christians, especially in Serbian Kosovo and Raška, Egypt and Syria

My Orthodox liturgical blog "For what eat, while you can fast" in Polish (videos featuring chants in different languages)

Sounds like there would be a shortage of people who ἔχουσιν μορφώσεις εὐσεβειῶν (2 Tim 3:5) all over the supposedly Christian world.

If the bishops were playing like me, then it is an ill omen. Much prayer is needed to avert calamity. If they were playing like Eddie Van Halen, then all is well. Rejoice and praise God for such great mercy.

Owing to some events in the news, I've heard different ways to pronounce the name of the capital of Ukraine. Is it "Keev" or "Key-EV"?

Thanks.

I find it hilarious that in short teasers advertising the upcoming release of Game of Thrones Blu rays, they're using a Jon Snow "You are my queen" line as the focal point. It's like the marketing department collected everything that got criticized in the 8th season, threw a dart, and then went with the one they hit.

There's a woman vying for the Democractic party nomination for president named Kamala Harris

Would vote for her for the name alone. "Horrible Harris" sounds like the kind of dirt Trump would tweet about.

The video is ehm... interesting but the song is actually suprisingly decent. With a better vocalist and better lyrics they might make a decent band. It's awkward to hear Metal lyrics in your native language as usually Metal lyrics are mostly garbage and it is harder to surpass the garbage if you can't not to understand them. I feel sorry for all English-speaking people.

I went to see an Old Believer's church in Daugavpils, Latvia. I was a bit suprised to see benches in there. Is it customary for Old Believer churches to have chairs?

Probably not, but maybe they can have benches on the edges.

I mean, people have been Old Believers by centuries, I guess many of them just don't really care as much about their old rigour anymore. Daugavpils is a large city.

I'm comparing it to those tiny Old Believer villages.

I don't know how common it actually is, but:

Quote
Most Old Rite faithful try to arrive on time for the services. The benches located in the Church of the Nativity are placed there because the faithful usually arrive several minutes before services begin, thus, allowing them a place to sit before services commence. Also, it is still the practice of the Old Rite to read the liturgically-appointed homilies during Matins and/or Vigils. During the reading of these homilies the faithful sit and listened attentively. When the services do begin, the faithful stand with arms folded with as little shifting of feet and body as necessary. It has always been custom in the Old Rite to stand at any time of prayer with arms folded much like the instructions given before the readings of the Six Psalms.
http://www.churchofthenativity.net/old-rite/practices

I don't see anyone sitting on those benches.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.
