Lol my post was a copy paste from a John Cleese rant.

So you confess you are not creative.
Creatively bankrupt.

Me too.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

I find it funny that this thread was on 666 for almost a week and then on 667 for less than a day.
Christ my God, set my heart on fire with love in You, that in its flame I may love You with all my heart, with all my mind, and with all my soul and with all my strength, and my neighbor as myself, so that by keeping Your commandments I may glorify You the Giver of every good and perfect gift. Amen.

Is any of the above Orthodox?  I have no clue, so there's that.

Showed up at church this morning and the bishop was there. Miss church for a month and look what plans they slip under your radar.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

If religions were advertised the way meds are on American tv. "Don't join this religion if you are allergic to it. Tell your doctor if you are following other religions at the same time. Don't stop following this religion without first consulting your priest..."

The feeling of writing poetry when you're truly into it is so intense
“God,”
The words rumbled:
“There is much suffering,
But the church is alive. "

“How long, Archpriest, are we to suffer thus?” I answered: “Until our very death, Markovna!” And she replied, with a sigh: “So be it, Petrovich, let us plod on.” - Life of Avvakum by Himself

Nastasya, Nastasya, be
patient and do not cry:
Not every happiness
Comes in the clothing of fortune.

St. Avvakum, pray for us!

St. Ambrose, pray for us!

The first printed book in Russia: The Apostle

Printed by St. John Fedorov, a deacon, after printing was blessed by Metropolitan Macarius.

He later printed the Ostrog Bible, which was, I believe, the first printed Bible in the Orthodox world. It had no errors, but was later slandered as erroneous and heretical.

Fun fact: Finnish phrase "vaihtaa hiippakuntaa" which literally translates to "to change a diocese" is an euphemistic reference to a person's death.

I was mostly joking... but still, while this commercial intends to be educational and optimistic, the tone seems quite self-satisfied about being able to produce insulin (unlike those type 1 people)

That's all New Yorkers complain about.
I mean, if it's really the best pizza in the world...

It's the whine that gets me.  "Everything outside New York is not like New York!"  Color me shocked.

There is no such thing as "best" pizza.  The epitome of a perfect slice will never be achieved, although it is a worthy goal.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.

Got on the bus the other day with someone who had just recently moved here from New York City. The superiority of NYC pizza, and how the stuff here didn't even really qualify as pizza, came up during the half hour bus ride. True story.  8)

It is.  I don’t whine about it, though.  I accept it as a fact of life.

Mor has alternative facts. The best is in Chicago.
Too many theologists, not enough theologians.

I think my retirement plan is going to involve world travel to test these theories.  I'll keep y'all posted.
Is any of the above Orthodox?  I have no clue, so there's that.
