Last Sunday I realised one of our priests was wearing a very nice perfume. I commented it to him and he answered: "Do you know when Christ told us to look good when we're fasting? I take it literally."

Most people in the New world probably use the terms interchangeably when speaking about world war 2 without meaning anything polemical by it.  You can probably translate any use of the word there to suite your purpose and be OK.

At the Facebook profile of a priest from an uncanonical EO church (he was OO when I met him one year ago):
  • Visitor: Who is that?
  • Priest: My bishop!
  • Visitor: I don't have one yet haha
  • Priest: You'll get one haha
Dude, what do these vagantes have in mind?

Today I had an epiphany farting loudly on church.

I realised this is what not having control means. Not falling repeatedly on sin.

I wanted today to buy a new phone and sign a new contract with the operator. so after work (and I had a pretty tiring day) I went the representation. In half an hour I managed to pick the phone I want and the tariff I want, was in the middle of signing papers and then I was told additional documents are needed. "I'm sorry, you can't do that now".

And that's how time is being wasted.

I know the story of a guy who called a TV technician to his house, took him to the backyard, showed him a pool and said: "I got this from suing my phone operator. If you try to fool me, I will make a brick barbecue there."

Roughly 10% (of the discounted price because it is on sale already). I was offered 1000 zł, paid 900 zł and it costs about 1300 zł in a shop.

My birthday was yesterday, so I commemorated it with this girl who was born two days apart and we called some friends. It started as a mild gathering and ended up with a guy stabbing another in the arm as a joke (what kind of joke makes you get stitches?). I think we'll do the next one alcohol-free.

It's all about the cigarette sealer.  For a small fee, I can probably get a couple of these sealers in my back alley and send them to anyone if anybody is interested, it's the next big thing.

If anyone was wondering what to do with their extra Apple, pineapple, and two pens, the latest viral video fad will help you answer that important dilemma in your life.
Vain existence can never exist, for "unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain." (Psalm 127)

If the faith is unchanged and rock solid, then the gates of Hades never prevailed in the end.

Today marks the anniversary of the official start of world war 2, when the Nazis invaded Poland

For those of us on the New Calendar, it also start of the Church Calendar New Year, it so wired today is both something good, and bad.

That's an everyday thing.

On Old Calendar Sept 11 (Civil calendar) is the beheading of John the Baptist
...but on the New Calendar July 4 is the day of the Holy Royal Martyrs of Russia....we'll call it a draw
Wishing to grant pardon for ancient debts, he who cancels the debts of all people came himself and dwelt among those who were estranged from his divine grace; and tearing apart the record of sin, he hears from everyone: Alleluia.

Nope.  17 July/4 July.
Then somebody better tell the Greeks  ;).

The St Anthony's Monastery calendar gives the correct date.  Really, if the GOA would just listen to Elder Ephraim more...  ;)

Oh no! Not Elder Ephraim! He'll probably make them tear out the organs too...
Funnily enough the calendar came up during Orthodoxy 101 class about the Nativity today!
Wishing to grant pardon for ancient debts, he who cancels the debts of all people came himself and dwelt among those who were estranged from his divine grace; and tearing apart the record of sin, he hears from everyone: Alleluia.

Spent a few minutes in Romanian vespers before confession today. Felt a bit weird since I couldn't understand any of it. I assumed that I would have catched a few familiar words but no.
