Trisagion have you ever been to Pittsburgh?
Many times. I went to college about 40 minutes north of the city.
God bless!

Sorry if I forgot, but were you attending any Orthodox parishes here as a inquirer/catechumen or was that in Harrisburg?

No. Orthodoxy wasn't on my radar when I lived out there. I attend in York, although I have been to ones in Harrisburg which is only a 40 minute drive away from where I live.
God bless!

I haven't had one for ages. The idea brings me some fond memories of my university years.

Did you also drink several cups of it and then write poetry you thought was fantastic....until you woke up the next day?

LOL. Sounds fun but no, not really. I had other measure to utter desperation.

I'm not going to be posting as much on OC.Net as before. I might stop in once in a while though. But I've come to realize that real life is more important.

A Muslim family that I deliver papers to has put up an evergreen wreath decorated with snowmen and the phrase "Happy Holidays". Should I be offended? Or fear for the neighbourhood? Or protest that infidels are taking over my heritage? Or bake cookies and take some over?

When I was a wee one, a Pakistani grad student who was working with my dad at Bell labs used to cook delicious Indian food with lots of curry. I miss those days.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. I will never adjust my iPod while driving again. Had an extremely close call driving home from class last night. Took my eyes off the road for a split second and next thing I know I'm almost on the sidewalk. Nearly popped a tire. My mother would have never let me live that down.

Yeah man I've had the same thing happen as well, where I look away for a split second then I have to readjust quickly.

I don't know how people can text and drive. Worse are those snapchat morons taking selfie videos while driving.

Strangely if I know my route really well I don't even think about driving and then I snap out if it and realize I'm driving. That to me is a bit scarier lol

This may sound impossible, but I have pseudo-slept with one eye open while driving the PA Turnpike. I will suddenly become alert and not even remember that I had driven the last hour or so of my trip. One eye will be all dried out and the other will will be fine from being shut. It has happened on more than one occasion.
God bless!

It's particularly annoying when I'm trying to drive someone to their home and I miss their exit because my autopilot feature is leading me to my home.

I've been through Pennsylvania before on a trip and it is very pretty, from what I can remember. (it was several years ago)
That is because it is the dwelling place of the LORD Almighty.

Which is so weird, because I was pretty sure that US 15 southbound is the corridor to hell.
Northbound actually.

I will concede that point, however. US 15 is not a good place. Unless, of course, you are looking for lot lizards and trailer tramps. Those can be found in abundance.

Well, it certainly can't be northbound because that brings you to New York.

Northbound takes me to my in-laws, so yes, it is the corridor to hell. Also, there are lots of seedy strip clubs and adult video stores. Apparently, the river rats have not figured out that you can get that stuff for free on the internet.
God bless!

clearly its not a basement......

With my return to school in my 40's, I've replaced life in my parents' basement with life holed up in my room (when I'm not at work, in class, or at church). Otherwise, I resemble this meme. :-[
