Is it permitted to build a monastery in the shape of a three bar cross?

It's kind of disappointing to notice that I've been too long away from my university to have any kind of meaningful academic-ish discussion on pretty much anything. Not that I'd want an academic career as I like being employed but still. I used to be better. Meh.

I sympathise.

Me too, although by better, I really mean more argumentative. Now, the most I can muster is an eye roll.  I'm turning in to biro.

It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

So many 'I's in your single line shows this beach trip is egocentric dissipative indulgence.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

Out of fast:

Many Energies, 3 Persons, 2 Natures, 1 God, 1 Church, 1 Baptism, and 1 Cup. The Son begotten only from the Father, the Spirit proceeding only from the Father, Each glorifying the Other. People should salute the manioc. It's fantastic and yummy, when it isn't being poison laden first.

And people everywhere should cheer it for being that yummiest of American deserts tapioca pudding!

You made me need to go listen to the original speech.  ;)
All opinions expressed by myself are quite tragically my own, and not those of any other poster or wall hangings.

For whatever reason, I searched "overdressed Dutch man" and got this picture as a result.  I'm sure you were not dressed as Sint-Nicolaas.  At least he shops at Harrods.

Who do we want?
Christ!
How do we want him?
Really resurrected!

Come Lord Jesus and save us.
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai
Writings from the Philokalia: On Prayer of the Heart,
Translated from the Russian by E. Kadloubovksy and G.E.H. Palmer, Faber and Faber, London, Boston, 1992 printing.

Someone should write a book about how to be an Orthodox Christian without being a idiot.

I think I'm in love with my Art History professor. She used to be a museum curator. There's just something about the tender way she speaks and conducts herself that I find really relieving, that and she's downright cute and petite. I love sitting at the front of the class and being the first to raise my hand whenever she asks a question. I'm going to be really sad when the semester ends this December and I'm out of her class.

I thought certain kind of hymns were kosher even during Soviet times. I guess they got a bit more tolerant to Tchaikovski etc. towards the end.

What browser do you guys use? I did a fresh install of W7 and upgraded to IE11. It's alright, but are there any alternatives to Chrome/Firefox/Opera? I'm encountering an issue running a test through IE11 that requires a browser that supports a refresh rate higher than 60hz.

I will be on W7 until M$ stops servicing it in what 5 years?

Lol my old computer is throwing an "Ontology.dll" error everytime I boot or open a program.

Anyone interested in seeing my 1998 setup?

Have you seen her during office hours needing a demonstration in the erotic forms of the female body?

Yeah I feel on the one hand the way it renders certain sites (and how long it takes) reminds me of Netscape '95 and other times its blazingly fast.

For some reason everytime I use FireFox I end up bottlenecking the speeds somehow. But it has my favorite ad blocker extension though.

My workplace still is running IE8. Supposedly we don't upgrade as fast because they wait awhile until any potential security threats are minimized, but I would think with such an archaic browser wouldn't we be more susceptible to newer evolving malicious spyware. Oh you Trojan, don't you know that's not your final form yet?

I primarily use Firefox and sometimes use Chrome. I use IE at work because employers are stupid and require such things.

That is pretty much why I use it as well. I think Chrome is faster, but ads annoy me more.
God bless!

Chrome has nothing to combat them?

I used to have ABP+ and something else to block ads on FireFox. It was superb.

I get into horrible habits of opening 100 tabs at once though, and not using the bookmark function. I find something interesting -> new tab. Repeat until I can get close to running out of memory lol

It might, but it would require energy for me to look through their extensions and I don't find the speed difference to be enough to warrant changing. Plus, all my bookmarks and stuff are on Firefox. So yeah... laziness. lol

ABP is the extension I use too. I like it. I also use Flashstopper to prevent Yahoo from continually having their stupid videos play automatically.

It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

That's the thing, I'd rather spend time talking about browsers than actually searching for a better browser lol
