Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

Ok, I'm gonna vent. This has been a terrible week. I wrecked my car yesterday on my way to work because the stupid township didn't salt our roads. Work has been horrible this week and I'm completely overrun with stuff that had deadlines of weeks ago. I have a million things to do and I'm so frustrated and upset, that I can't do any of them properly. Ugh. Sometimes, I just want to quit everything, pick up and go be a survivalist except that I would suck at that and probably die within a week. I can't even quit properly.  >:(

Is 'suck' a forum prohibited word? I can't remember.
God bless!

Gosh, Tris, I'm sorry. That doesn't sound fun.

Well, you've made progress, if I'm reading this correctly, and that's quite important. Good for you.

I've been researching card games a lot recently. Today I realized I've been pronouncing "pinochle" incorrect my entire life.

No, I will not be sharing how I've been pronouncing it.
It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

I need some family members 1,600 miles (round trip) from me.  I follow this car review website and one of the reviewers seems to take monthly trips from LA to the Oregon coast - without staying at hotels en route.  Perhaps my life would be better if I went on a 1,600 mile round-trip at least once a month (or every other month).   ???

Am I indecent for my fascination of disturbing things?

If it makes you happy, I disapprove of most of the stuff on 4chan.

But there's a sense of thrill and excitement to witness the filth of humanity first hand with my own eyes. Why do you think I am interested in philosophy and psychology in the first place? It's because of the grim, cruel, uncertain, ambiguous, mysterious and dark issues about existence and the human mind that they explore. I revel in them like a pig rolling in mud in satisfaction.

So if it is beyond indecent to go onto 4chan and admit it, then let me be as indecent as squalor itself for I've seen much worse.

Look, we live in a spectacularly evil world, and we all fail. There's room for failure, there's room for humor and tears. That said, we have to fight evil, within and without. You have to fight it. And based on what you're saying, starting to do that may not be an easy task for you.

We don't want to know. Everyone is only too aware of what tendencies and passions are -- you're not special. If you want to distinguish yourself, it's easy to do in this world -- distinguish yourself for humility and self-control.

Yes I know all that. I'm not ashamed to admit that my own willpower and determinations are weak.

If it makes everyone happy, I would stop with posting all the nonsensical stuff as I did on that mascot thread. I didn't even expect it to erupt into a big mess.

Please forgive me for my transgressions and the anger I caused here.

I found out that a friend of mine is relocating to CO, 1,712 miles (give or take) away from where I live.  Gas is cheap enough that I could drive one-way for less than $100 although I don't know how I would hold up to 30+ hours of continuous driving.

If you get to the point of getting sleepy, you're already in dangerous territory. It's essential to stop every two or three hours, get out of the car, and move around for a few minutes. After 8-12 hours of driving, take a nap if you haven't had one already.

I found out that a friend of mine is relocating to CO, 1,712 miles (give or take) away from where I live.  Gas is cheap enough that I could drive one-way for less than $100 although I don't know how I would hold up to 30+ hours of continuous driving.

It's not hard.  But if you get sleepy, PULL OVER TAKE A NAP.

I have a hard time taking naps in rest areas.  When I had credit cards, I'd just go to a hotel if I felt sleepy and even there I'd have a hard time falling asleep.  Adrenalin can do numbers on you....

If you get to the point of getting sleepy, you're already in dangerous territory. It's essential to stop every two or three hours, get out of the car, and move around for a few minutes. After 8-12 hours of driving, take a nap if you haven't had one already.

On a 5 hour drive to SW VA, I stop about 3 times although the trip takes place during daytime.  My single longest driving day was 8 hours when I drove from home to school during the overnight hours.

Here's something I found on 4Chan last night,

Sakura, even people indecent enough to go there generally have the decency not to admit it.

I've said it before, I'll say it again.

The only decent thing to come out of 4chan was Ben Huh, who posted lolcats there until 2007, when he left to create I Can Has Cheezburger.

Sakura, you are no Ben Huh.
My only weakness is, well, never mind

Drive with a friend, in shifts. Safe, cheap, and a lot more fun.

I tried that once; I slept and allowed someone else to drive.  When I woke up, we were on a NJ Turnpike off-ramp heading towards the toll plaza with my car in 5th gear going about 15 mph.  Afraid that my car would self-destruct, I had to coax the driver into making a U-turn across some traffic cones and return to the Turnpike.

Yeah don't do it with that friend.

Presumably from driving under stress.

I never said or made any inclination that I intend to be like him.

Look. I know that what I did on the mascot board and my expression of delight in reading and studying about disturbing things are wrong and indecent.
It's my fault that I failed to restrained myself and got so caught up in the non seriousness at the mascot board and here as well.

I should've known better after what I did on the feminist board.

I'm sorry for agitating you all with all the immature stuff I've done. This is a place for me to learn and relate to matters of Faith, not indulge and promote my own secular pleasures.

More concerned about you than about what you do or don't do to this forum.
