Say that someone makes a sex tape of themselves and their spouse. They later divorce. Is it considered pornography for the spouse who kept the tape to watch it?

Deep thoughts, by Kelly.
It's common knowledge that you secretly want to be born in early 17th century Russia.  As a serf or a royal, I know not.  Chances are serf.

Why would someone make a tape when they can just have sex with their spouse...?

I would say that it is pornography at either time, but that its moral/ethical use is not hinging on what it is, but rather what the relationship is like between the two people. If the person not in possession of it would not want it viewed, then I would think it should not be viewed (if you are trying to be moral/ethical or whatever). I guess most people would try to make some distinction between before and after though, so that it is not pornography before but becomes so afterwards; however, in that case I think my comment about the wishes of the person not in possession of it would still hold.

Was the film filmed on a fast day?

Please tell me you're not suggesting that there are actually people who don't follow the marital fast...

Thanks to OC.net, every time I read the word "hearsay", my mind automatically interprets "heresy".  No matter what.

really its the same difference.. ;)

The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai
Writings from the Philokalia: On Prayer of the Heart,
Translated from the Russian by E. Kadloubovksy and G.E.H. Palmer, Faber and Faber, London, Boston, 1992 printing.

Would the Church even allow a married couple to make a sex "tape" in the first place? ("tape" is such an archaic misnomer in our DVD age). I know that there are many somewhat bizarre canons and spiritualizations of sex that may be interpreted as forbidding the filming of sexual intercourse, even within marriage.

Don't be crazy. All the top athletes film themselves and then study game footage to work on their technique and St. Paul clearly says we need to be like athletes and race to win. Failing to tape it is the real sin here.

After all these years, and all these hundreds of pages in Random Postings, I've finally decided to give up trying to go back and catch up on the past couple pages to get a sense of the flow of conversation before jumping in. There is no flow.

Normally, I find the Daily Tidbit of Wisdom posts to be spot on, but I take umbrage at this post.  Who in their right mind would use a pizza cutter on a delivered pizza?  They come pre-sliced for pete's sake! Is it so difficult to tear a piece out by the precut lines that someone would need to soil a pizza cutter to duplicate efforts?  Sorry for this rant, but this topic really touches close to home for me.  I think I will need to work it out in therapy.

Don't make me go all medieval on your post. It was clearly deliniated that this was not Digiorno, but was indeed delivered. Had this been a simple case of Digiorno, I would have understood. It was not and hence my response.

Sidenote: Digiorno tastes terrible.

Daily Addendum of Wisdom to Daily Tidbit of Wisdom #233: Never trust the cuts food delivery places make. They use those big cutters that look like something out of a horror movie!

Also beware people who cut pizza like this:

Instead use a more common tool, such as this:

Or something like this Enterprise model, which can be bought at any local supermarket or Walmart:

It's 9pm on tuesday and I feel like going to a nearby pub. Alone. With a book. How pathetic is that?

It's 9pm on tuesday and I feel like going to a nearby pub. Alone. With a book. How pathetic is that?
That all depends on what book it is.

It's a sociological research. I know, I'm weard. I don't really read any fiction these days.

Weird but okay.

Being alone in a pub is weird but disgusting with a book? Sense this makes none. Being alone in a pub sounds like an alcoholic or that someone's looking certain kind of company. Getting into a pub with a book is pathetic but at least that's better option than those two.

I approve. That makes you sound scholarly. If you were taking Harry Potter to read at the pub, I would have agreed with Cyrillic.
God bless!

...you would have teleported yourself to England. Are you sure this isn't the vodka thread?  ???
