You should copypasta sermons from the Church Fathers without referencing the source. That's bound to work.

Good idea. If I get some of the anti-Jewish ones from St. John Chrysostom, that is bound to get me some serious cred. Or a yellow meatball.

A more official answer:

"Panagia", an icon of the Christ with his Mother the Theotokos, worn like a medallion around his neck. "Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." (Deuteronomy 11:18-19)

I really enjoy this forum when people discuss contentious issues without sarcasm or ridicule. I learn so much from so many people here, and I love serious debate that doesn't degenerate into name calling and mockery. I know I have been guilty of sarcasm and ridicule much too often. I apologize for that. There are a lot of very smart and well informed people on this forum. It's good to reason together, to challenge one another, and to debate with a spirit of humility and love. And from time to time this actually happens! Let's all work to make it happen more often. And I pledge to begin by working on myself.  Smiley

Agreed. But I do enjoy sarcasm when it's not mean-spirited. It can sometimes ameliorate an otherwise hostile encounter, especially if it's directed at the person making it.

I guess my point is, and my priest told me this about my own tendency to be sarcastic, don't throw out what makes you you. Just be wary of people's feelings and think before you act.

Not really. It's just that the last POM I enjoyed was from as far back as August 2013. The ones that came next don't hold a candle to it. I don't blame the mods, they just don't get a lot of good posts to choose from, I suppose.

The POM is mainly a contest to see who can pack as many nice inoffensive spiritual sentiments into a single post as possible. It is doomed to be unexciting.

As odd as it might sound, since I've had my name attached to several of them recently, I tend to agree. I make maybe two or three posts a year where I think to myself that I'm on to something very interesting and even maybe a little special. These posts are generally ignored. Cheesy Then other posts seem to get liked when all I did was rush to type out some stuff before I had to go shower. *shrugs* This is actually why the 'advice' I was going to give Tri was to shoot from the hip and not worry about aiming, and if other people thought it hit the target they'd let you know.

I had another bizarre dream. This one was just plain weird.

Apparently I was watching too much Animal Planet before bed or something but I had a dream that I was trying to save a bunch of baby animals from poachers in Africa and I jumped inside of a hovercraft, animals in the back, and none other than Kelly was in the passenger seat and she just kept telling me to drive and not screw up as a bunch of angry African poachers with rifles chased us.

Heh, interesting. In my dreams I used to die a horrible death or get into a scary situation, but nowadays I'm an accomplished opera singer in my dreams. I can't sing at all when I'm awake, but I'm brilliant in my sleep. I haven't heard such a good rendition of La Donna è Mobile as the one I sang in my sleep last night for a long time. All my friends who were there were rather impressed as well. At least it was an aria for tenors this time round, unlike last week, when I sung a famous aria for sopranos, O Mio Babbino Caro, in a tenor voice. That was a bit weird. With Schubert's Die Forelle, which I sang in my dreams last week, last night's episode brings my nocturnal repetoire to three songs. Perhaps this awful pertussis that's been buggering me for weeks has anything to do with it.

Ah, dreams. They truly are magical.

I don't have that much attention span.  I think I will resort to copy and pasting wikipedia articles into the forum.

You should copypasta sermons from the Church Fathers without referencing the source. That's bound to work.
Good idea. If I get some of the anti-Jewish ones from St. John Chrysostom, that is bound to get me some serious cred. Or a yellow meatball.

A yellow meatball? That sounds good. Can I have one too?

Today is a proud day for me. If you go to the Members tab and sort by number of posts, my name is now on the first page.  I have worked long and hard to be a part of that prestigious club.  I would like to that my family, my producer and God for enabling me to continuously produce the level of spammy posts that I have in order to achieve this accomplishment.

Don't remind me.  It is too painful to even think about.  At least I can console myself by seeing myself in the quotable quotes thread. At least someone thinks I'm quoteworthy, even if it isn't THE MAN.

EDIT: and btw, I'm coming for you, vamrat!

I can't help you with the interesting, but I do my level best to ensure there are new posts whenever you hit refresh.

How do I get that yellow meatball you were talking about,TheTrisagion? I'm hungry. And it sounds like this meatball must have lots of cheddar cheese in it to make it yellow.

Well, it looks like you are well on your way.  As with all things, you must properly age your green meatball and feed it a steady diet of inappropriate posting and it will soon grow into a yellow one.

Sidebar: I do not recommend this course of action.

Okay...sounds like a yellow meatball is actually not that appetitizing. I think I'll not try it.

Is a yellow meatball really that bad? And is multiple-posting REALLY allowed here?

Congrats! Truly you are making progress in your spiritual journey on the self-discovering road to theosis and beyond! And by my count 9 or 10 members ahead of you either no longer post here, or post only rarely (about once a week or less), so you'll be in the top ten before you can say 'Claustrospelunker' ten times fast!
