There are easier ways to get those 15,000,000 million Swiss Francs from my Nigerian prince friend.

Apparently, exclaiming "Jesus Christ" is on the same level as the "F" word.  I just heard it get bleeped out on TV.

The true priest has the humility to acknowledge that he is always being instructed, katekhoumenos, in the unending wisdom of the Gospel.

Do the liturgical traditions with confession during a Vigil confess during the Six Psalms? This seems to me like it would be wrong.

They can be very annoying as well. I doubt whether there exists a sound more annoying than that of crying of a baby.

Hey guys, guess what I found;

An Old-Rite Orthodox mission in Uganda.

For some reason though, their icons show Christ blessing in the IC XC way.

I love that moment when I cross myself for some reason, and start to say a pre-meal prayer instead of whatever I was really intending. Like occasionally when I pass a church, I'll cross myself and start to say, "O Christ our God, bless the food and drink..."

When I was younger, my sister and I would laugh when we heard a baby cry or scream in church.

Reading some of my older posts (or newer ones, for that matter) often embarasses me; usually because they were too hot-tempered, nonsensical or a combination of both. Interesting how opinions can sometimes change or become more nuanced over times. I could start quite a few debates with my former self on some of the older threads, but that would look schizophrenic. The me of two years ago isn't completely unrecognisable, we still agree on quite some issues, especially the larger ones, but still.

I swear that people who become Christians are the dumbest people on the planet... So, become Christian or Christ-like, not A Christian, not God's b!@#$^ because otherwise you get flushed down the toilet of history.

All religious people are morons. But then again non-religious people are morons too. Might just abbreviate it to people are morons. Oh well.
But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.

I agree. It's just different kinds of morons. I am only saying that religious people are the worst. Honestly, no show. :)

I have no interest in peering into (what I imagine to be) the darkness of the Politics Forum, so with that one thread I suppose there goes any contribution I might have had.

Too bad. I'm really having some trouble in understand the Ukrainian affair.

Love the sig, Asteriktos!  That was a fun trip back to a happier time.
Quote from: Fr Alexander Schmemann
The Gospel is quite clear: both saints and sinners love God. "Religious" people do not love him, and whenever they can, they crucify him.

Of course, OC.net is not reflective of the Church, but is rather a surreal bubble. I have visited a lot of different parishes around the world and have listened to many hours of AFR...
