I have fulfilled a lifelong goal and made myself into a gif. You can, too.

Today's nervous breakdown brought to you by the sight of my closet. Which needed to be packed up

Four bags of clothes, one of shoes and one more of purses into the donation bin later, and I might have actually been able to see the end of it.

Considering I wear the same ten outfits, I have no idea how this happened...whose things were those?

Even with my sweet tooth, I find Pepsi to be too much.  Not that I'm a big soda drinker anyway (I prefer water, coffee/tea, fruit juices), but when I do indulge, any number of other soft drinks trump Pepsi.  And if Pepsi's all that's available, I choose water.  :P

I'm not a big soda drinker either (and if I am drinking soda I'd take root beer over anything), but I do love Pepsi. I used to be a Coke person but somehow over the years I've converted.

Apostate!  Thus I pray for you:

O Lord, Illumine with the light of grace all apostates from the Coca-Cola Faith, and those blinded by pernicious heresies, and draw them to Thyself, and unite them to the refreshing, classic taste of Thy choicest beverage.  Holy physician and father among earthly beverages, Saint John Pemberton of Atlanta, pray for us!
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

I've already pointed this out sometime ago. It is due to Shiny's removal. When you get rid of one of the most prolific and interesting posters, things are going to tank.

Trisagion's decision not to be here has done nothing. His generated nothing here save his own posts.

Cackles brings me hope.

Dying or leaving?

Strong combination of both. It's an old, small, coal mining town in Pennsylvania. The kids leave for school and work and don't come back, and the old folks move on in a different way.

Except for the coal mining sounds pretty much like my childhood's home town. Not that I'd have any intention of going back either.

Note to self: if you're going to skip a class, don't be anywhere near the classroom. At some point the professor will walk out and see you.
Quote from: The Life of Ivan Neronov
[Ecclesiastics] conspired against him because they hated his teaching for its zealous emphasis on proper Christian conduct: with great courage he denounced all whom he saw behaving in an ungodly fashion... [As such] he was deprived of his priestly rank, bound in iron chains, and broken down in jails.

There are some good ones in there! Most are not so good (as they were intentionally made to be such). Invisible Dick! The cover on The Best Dad is arguably more creepy than the title.

The great compline is boring enough as it is. Now stick the never ending great canon into it and it becomes supremely boring.

It's certainly rather heavy for what is in essence a duplication of Vespers meant to be said before sleeping, but I don't think it is boring (with the Great Canon, it is even less boring).  Of course, I'm presuming a basic familiarity with the language of worship and with the Scriptures.  But really, ninety minutes is way too long, IMO, for a service meant to be prayed at that late hour of the day more or less right before bed.

Vigilance and longsuffering in prayer is needed at that time, when demons are most ready and able to corrupt our souls. Or... maybe... yeah, I'm just going with that.  :police:
