I'd like to make a thread or a poll on socioeconomic structure of OCnet but I wouldn't like to set all hell loose like it is most threads on politcs.

How so?

As in why I would like to create such thread? Just general curiosity. Sociology is my minor and as I've grown older I've noticed that these things does have their effect on people.

Last week I was helping out at the local kindergarden, when I noticed a couple of children playing at a computer they had borrowed from the library. One of them was struggling to get the arrow to the right spot and he kept right-clicking. I was a bit puzzled by this until it dawned to me; "These kids don't know how to use a mouse!" When thinking about it, it really isn't that surprising, with everybody using Ipads today, but I was still a bit baffled.

See any thread on Politics. I believe hell consists of maps and bad caricatures of Obama.

I MUST say! I am v-e-r-y offended. Firstly, because I live North of 49*; secondly, because it requires some effort to convert 'miles' to km.; and finally because are ignoring the fact that I have (a retired)

Miles are British, kilometers are French. Just mentioning this since you seem to make much of being Her Majesty's loyal subject.

Riddle me this:

If one is all morose and dismal about the silly holiday, why do they keep logging into Facebook and see more things that make them morose.

Are people really that wallowy, that they get some twisted kick out of making themselves more dismal?

Hmm... very possible.  Cool

Speaking of... I am exceedingly saddened that no one contacted me or visited me yesterday to wish me a very merry Valentine's day. Admittedly an ex-girlfriend called on the cellular phone device, but I decided not to answer it because I didn't want to talk to her, and she didn't leave a voice message, so I'm not counting her.

Humbug!

Happy 'it's not really his actual' Valentine's day.

No one wished me one either, however that has not bothered me since appx. Kindergarten.

You also have a most splendid day-after valentine's day day!

@ Jonathan Gress: if you had done just a modicum of checking, you'd have discovered that "North of 49*" is Canada, where we use metric measurements.

I don't know about other churches and their calendars but it is Sunday of the Prodigal Son around here. Here is a liturgy celebrated today by HG Archbishop Leo of Karelia and all Finland.

Some people think that a Tesla generator has to be a device that gets you free energy. Personally, I believe that all money should be spent in order to clone Tesla and have the clone pedal in order to produce electricity.

I had the honor of sitting in a fully loaded Tesla recently.  It was amazing.  If I made just a bit more money, I'd be tempted to buy it.  It is gorgeous and the features and options are beyond compare.  As crass and unchristian as it sounds, I felt like a man sitting in that car.  It was amazing.

if we put as much effort into the infrastructure for electric vehicles, as we do into high speed internet, we'd all be driving electric cars already

Even satan himself can appear as an Angel of the Lord, and do good works in His name, to distract you from the path of True Righteousness

Ever notice that just like there is no age limit on stupidity, there is no IQ limit either? kind of explains a lot huh?

We may get there someday. It's not impossible.  Smiley
