...just wanted to hear some other opinions...
In my opinion:
  • It really should be called Pineapple downside-up cake.
  • Indoor soccer is different, but in a good way.
  • Sixty is a very useful number.
  • Whoever decided on the spelling for sphygmomanometer really had no business being in the spelling business.
I vigorously disagree with all of those points except for the last.  We can find common ground on that one, I suppose.

I did. I don't have emails coming in, I just see threads that I don't really care about when I click unread topics I've posted in.  There was nothing in there about changing that.  Thanks for the help though.  It really isn't a big deal, I just felt like posting something random in my usual over-exaggerated manner.

"There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

A recent university study found that 62% of people who use this quote are correct 44% of the time.

But only 3 out of 5 endocrinologists agree.

Yes, but you must take into account that 37% of endocrinologists got their degree from the University of Phoenix.

Why did you take out the cool swirly thingy and the boobs?  They add so much to the meaning of the symbol.

I originally got the symbol from another site, about neopaganism in general, and it didn't have the extra stuff. When I did see the other stuff though I figured that I shouldn't change my avatar, as it might cause a scandal and serious temptation for some people here. The devil will do anything he can to get guys to think about female bits.

As an aside, I think this should fulfill the "pagan" part of my long term goal of having used avatars representing all the major religions and philosophies in the world. Pagan, neo-pagan, goddess worship... they're all close enough to the same IMO.

I remember when I was like 11 or 12 and this girl in my school was my first (and so far as I know, only) secret admirer, and I accidentally happened upon her putting another note in my backpack, and she felt awkward/annoyed/embarrassed about being caught and after that wouldn't give me the time of day and treated me like crap and I was very confused by all of this, because if she liked me then why did she suddenly not like me? Wat? Wait, is this the relationship thread? Anyway...

Perhaps, perhaps. Though even if true it would still be better than we deserve.  8)

Also, it is nice enough outside to keep my door open today. 59 degrees at the moment. That whole deathly-cold thing seems so long ago...

Unfortunately not.  I see no musical notation.  Maybe its the horrible blurriness of most of it.  Ugh!

So I was having trouble ordering a book this weekend on Amazon, which seemed quite strange to me as I've been using the site since 2001*, and using this card in particular for over a year, and never had a problem like this, and I knew I had the money for it. Yet Amazon was saying that my bank was declining payment. At first I figured maybe the problem was that they started getting stricter about your billing address exactly matching your shipping address, or some other minor thing of that type. As it turns out the problem was that they had flagged my account for possible fraud. That in itself I'm fine with... not that I have enough money to make it worth the trouble for a thief, but I'm glad they have security in place.  What confused me was what they had flagged me over. I ordered a few photos prints from walmart.com so that I could give copies to someone, and it was like 81 cents or something. That was what they thought suspicious.  Huh??  ??? :D  ;D

*As an aside, it's sort of fun to go back through your history and see what books you were buying over a decade ago...

"M-Theory or Matrix Theory", Bible style: Within the infinite (1 Kings 8:27) Ocean of Essence that is God, two alternate realities consist (Colossians 1:17) by God's concurrence: the "complete" (τέλειος) and the "partial" (μέρος). It is the absence of divine revelation that renders our sphere "that which is in part." When the more substantial "complete" arrives, the partial will be done away:

10 But when that which is perfect (τέλειος) has come, then that which is in part (μέρος) will be done away. (1Corinthians 13:10 NKJ)

Therefore, everyone in Heaven is materially more substantial than everyone in our partial matrix.

I don't know if the Shulamite Woman appreciates having it pointed out to her that she's materially more substantial.

I make love to mountain lions,
Sleep on red-hot branding irons,
When I walk the roadway shakes,

Bed's a mess of rattlesnakes,
Voodoo child, black cat bone,
Scratch your back, hear you moan,
I get up, you go down, tall building, single bound,

War and peace and love, say it if you dare,
Iron fist, velvet glove,
I'm so bad, baby I don't care,

Black-hearted to the bone,
Older than The Rolling Stones,
Been to heaven, been to hell,
Bought the farm, and I won't sell,
Give and take, rise and fall, rise up and take it all,
Secret love, I won't tell, knock you up and ring your bell,

Kiss the whip, eat the gun,
Tell me it ain't fair, midnight victim, hit and run,
I'm so bad, baby I don't care,

I make the blind to see,
Shoot 'em full of R and B,
I make the lame to walk,
Come round and pop your cork,
Wham, bam, thank you ma'am,
Thought I heard the back door slam,
Overkill, walk the line, kill the lights, it's lampshade time,

On the road,on the lam, people running scared,
I'm everything they say I am, I'm so bad, baby I don't care.

Theory of Relativity has been superceded by the following simple formula:

 (String Theory)(Incoherent Mereology)(Strong's Concordance) = Shulamite Woman

Strange, yes.  "Awesome"?  Hmmm..... But though I'm practiced in incoherence, mereology is a little over my head. ;D

Sure, he can just pretend like he knows everything about everything as do certain others around here... Oh wait, I actually prefer J Micheal's self-deprecating sense of humor to the megalomania of other posters.

It's supposed to be the feminine version of Solomon: Shlomo & Shlomit (Shulamit).

Abishag the Shunamite who kept King David warm when he was old (1 Kings 1-2) was a native of Shunem. So was the widow whose son was resurrected by Elisha (2 Kings 4).
