Or maybe they can shut down colleges period cause they are pointless.

You didn't go to one, I presume?

Hopefully the next time around will be better since you know what you're getting into.  Or was this not your first time with that professor?

This was the first time, so I'm optimistic about the next run being smoother. The class I'm taking with him next semester is a requirement for me so I don't see much point in avoiding it.

Yeah, but your reference to "HS teachers" and "the school board" confused me, hence my question.

Better luck this time around.  There are some smart people here.  Ingratiate yourself with them and maybe they'll do your homework sometime.

Ouch?  Why?

There are smart people here and I should ingratiate myself with them so they will do my homework, and un-smart me will maybe do better next time.  :P

Maybe it's just me but the smileys just don't seem... smiley enough.
Quote from: The Life of Ivan Neronov
[Ecclesiastics] conspired against him because they hated his teaching for its zealous emphasis on proper Christian conduct: with great courage he denounced all whom he saw behaving in an ungodly fashion... [As such] he was deprived of his priestly rank, bound in iron chains, and broken down in jails.

That's because in Orthodoxy smiling is about being content and at peace within yourself in a restrained and sober manner,  and has nothing to do with the exaggerated, pleasure-focused "happiness" of the worldly world type!  :) 8)

Only reason I knew it existed was because of the Amazing Atheist's commentary on it.
Who is also rather cringe worthy to watch. Yet I can't help myself. Some sort of masochism.

Steve Shives is pretty good. Plus he talks to stuffed animals rather than screaming and being all crazy-man, if TJ ever gets to be too much for you.

EDIT--And by pretty good I mean intellectually interesting, not just entertaining (though he is that as well)

Ok, so here is something I am confused about. There was one war in the 17th century and that was with America and England and in 1776 on July 4 we Americans won that war and became the United States. So here is my question, we call it the revolutionary war because it revolutionized society and how people treat each other and was the beginning of democracy and free speech and all that, but why didn't other countries like England follow the revolution? I mean obviously they lost badly, they didn't even get to keep a single state, so shouldn't we have forced them to adopt better ways? Really what was the point of becoming the super power if we weren't going to help people emulate us? It makes no sense!

The worst part is that we disarmed and disbanded our military only to have England sucker punch us like 40 years later. I guess that's when we wrote the stuff protecting our rights to bear arms, but it's just sad that it came to that when you really think about it.

However I am terrible at math. So I guess I'm screwed?

Are you terrible because you've been told you were?  Or did you try and try unsuccessfully?

I'm just going off of what I did in high school. I guess accounting is basic addition, subtracting, division and multiplying.

I'd go for a CFA too after the CPA.
