You had a kid and now your life is over?

It's in Troy. Will I be seeing you there, neighbor?

If you are further than 500 ft. from me or not my enemy, you are no neighbor of mine.

I am going to a Foreigner concert tomorrow. How did this happen?

You had a kid and now your life is over?

I never look at my profile or whatever, but I just noticed it has been altered. Or have I been .sigless and juridictionless and stuff for a while? Weird.

Not that I care about that stuff too much. If I didn't love my current avatar so much, I would probably be without one of those. It is probably the second avatar ever in my online history I've ever liked.

Hmmm, the look of oc.net is slightly altered is what it is. The fields are not rendered which are left blank?

Anyhoo, I better get going.

The PM link is altered as well into a graphic of some sort.

Your friends don't dance and if they don't dance, well they're no friends of mine.

Interestingly, my neighbors do in fact dance. Both their proximity and their being my enemy due to the times when they decide to dance make them doubly my neighbors.

It's hidden to me and thus others, if that allows you some sense of comfort.

Usually such layout changes are best preceded by an announcement.

You recently killed the internet in my eyes, so what's a single thread?

I think if I could just have yours, Opus', and JameR's posts sent to me everyday in digest form, I could leave the internet forever.

Nope.  Troy, NY.  There's no other Troy worth discussing because none of them are in NY.

Well you know that as a NYer I agree, but circumstances are what they are. Alas, it will be Troy, OH, that I'll be in tomorrow... partying like it's 1979.

I suppose there are worse places than OH.  I lived NW of Troy and just over the state line in PA, and that was one of those worse places.  :P

Yes, Shiny.  And I served a year of exile in Western PA, so I speak from experience.  Once you cross over into Ohio, it's like someone colorised the black and white world you just left.

My wife, who was raised in SW PA, agrees with you (and me) wholeheartedly.  When we married and she moved in with me in Akron, she began calling OH "Free country."  I don't mind the people that I interact with in SW PA, but I do miss living in OH.

When I drove through Ohio, then got into PA, I thought to myself what a stark contrast.

Actually I wouldn't mind living in the rural area, camo gear on, thick beard, got a shotty in my truck, couple of yeungling cans in the car. But since I'm a woman I guess that's not going to happen.  ;)

The way some of you people disparage my homeland makes me sad. [no joking]

Hugs!

Home will always be home.  There's at least one place in the US to which I would voluntarily move instead of dwelling in my own homeland, but I don't pretend that such a determination came about easily and, were it to actually happen, would be easy.

And, for all my griping about WPA, I miss some things about it* (not just the OH things).

But really, when all is said and done...come on.  You've read enough Gregory Nazianzus to know that New York is where it's at.

*Actually, one of the things I regret is that I didn't resurface on OCNet during the time I lived there, or else I could've met some of you and gotten to know you in real life with relative ease.  That would've been a privilege for me, whether or not you felt that way too.

Aw, sorry Asteriktos. If PA is what you love then it's what you love. Maybe my opinion is more than a little influenced by a couple of terrifying trips through the mountains on Rt. 15.  ;)

My sister lived in Manhattan for awhile and she loved it... I was like, are we really related? Western NY is the best. Corning specifically.

The only "Western NY" region I've ever really explored is Buffalo and environs.  While that was nice, I think I prefer regions up to two or three hours north of NYC.

I really need to explore more of NY.  Albany is as north of home as I've traveled in NY, and yet there's much more.

Corning huh?

How far from Pittsburgh?

About 4.5 hours, evidently:

Ill go other places if ill have to, but when it comes down to it, if i have a chance, ill come back home to Buffalo 100% of the time.

The way some of you people disparage my homeland makes me sad. [no joking]

There are really nice people here in SW PA!  That's got to count for a lot!  (And lots of Orthodox folks, too.)

I'm moving too Noo Yoke City. Seriously.

The city just seems amazing to me. Would love to visit.

Eh.  It's great to visit, but even I wouldn't really want to live there.  There's more to NY than Manhattan.

WORD. My sister lived in Manhattan for awhile and she loved it... I was like, are we really related? Western NY is the best. Corning specifically.

I hear the tour of the glass museum is awesome.

I'm so excited that you even know about that, Fr. George!  :D I hear it's awesome too, but even thought I was raised there I never actually went on a tour. But the gift shop is awesome!

We have a relative who works in the area (lives in Horseheads) and took my folks on the tour; I wish I could have been with them.

Horseheads! I used to work there. That's where our little mall is. Small world! I'm heading back there next month for my brother's wedding. Maybe I'll try to find time to go on the tour.
