I sleep nude. I walk around my house nude. I cook nude. I've gone in the middle of the night to get my mail nude.

She hears, upon that water without sound,
A voice that cries, “The tomb in Palestine
Is not the porch of spirits lingering.
It is the grave of Jesus, where he lay.”
We live in an old chaos of the sun,
Or old dependency of day and night,
Or island solitude, unsponsored, free,
Of that wide water, inescapable.

Well I dunno, I've seen people text each other erotic stuff that is under the umbrella of sexting.

But I've never sent photos of myself...

As far as canonical hours are concerned, the Orthodox usually three-sext: trithektizo sounds cool in Greek. Kind of like Quinisext in Latin...

Tell me about it. People didn't like my French moustache that appeared from out of nowhere in last night's dream. At least it is better than the dreams about grammar that plagued me the last few weeks.

I have a different perspective based on my life experiences. Men are more sensitive, emotional and caring than women. Sometimes it takes sharing a bottle of red wine to find that out, sometimes not.

I strongly believe that men have deeper and more complex emotions than women. Have felt that way for a long time now.

Now I put on my flame suit..

"I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die [...] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -The Lord Jesus Christ

You're doing wonders for my vocabulary.  Every time I read a post of yours, I need to google a word.  When my scrabble scores go through the roof, I'll be sure to credit you properly to everyone who asks.
Some of my questions might appear patently stupid to those well-versed in Orthodoxy, but I'm brand new, having no background in the faith.  Please grant me a great deal of patience and consideration as I learn the basics.

When folks ask, "Who is Mor Ephrem?",  make sure you say "Doctor Mor Ephrem.  An early church father.  I think."  When they ask "What's a church father?",  flip the Scrabble board and scream, "I WIN," as tiles rain from the sky.

Ah ha!  Just used 'nous' in a scrabble game, and was immediately challenged!

Opponent:  "Not so fast.  What's a 'nous'?"

Me: "Well, for most people, it's the intellect.  However, in my case, it's a thing with which to hang myself."

He dropped the challenge.

New tenants moved in upstairs so I was forced relinquish direct access to the modem/router (because they have some online business or something and otherwise the ethernet cable would have to run all through their apartment).

Wifi reception is so terrible now that it takes me 20 minutes to push out a post. It's like I've gone back a decade.

I used to have a Finnish neighbor, and that's inspired how I picture the Finns here — very tall, muscle-bound, sleeve tattooed and vaguely angry.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

I pictured all Finns as Timo Soini until I saw a photo of Alpo.

In another thread recently,  the assertion was made that the Antiochians are "sulkers."  But I put it to you another way.  At this time of year, with the World Series just around the corner, is it not more appropriate to accuse them of being lollygaggers?  (Warning:  There is some profanity at the end of this clip.)
