You're supposed to use a modicum of taste and discrimination when shopping for beer in the U.S., ignoring the mass marketed fizzy bourgeois slop that some quite mistakenly call "beer".

You see no problem in this statement of grand supposition?   laugh

They say there are no stupid questions. However, it is self-evident that there are stupid people, and that they must at some point ask questions. I am one of those people, and these are my questions.

If one bird in the hand is better than two in the bush, then how much is a bird in the stomach worth?

They say you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. Why are people so intent on catching flies?

Some people use the expression that something/someone is "as fast as [crap] through a tin horn." First, who tested the speed of this? Where was the data published? What was the shape of the horn? What the consistency of the crap? There are so many questions here.
Second, why do people assume that others would know about how fast crap travels through a tin horn?

This will suffice for now. Please help.

Just get the G2 Pilot bold ink pen.

They are like a couple bucks, but really smooth to write with.

I used to write with them in high school and university. I still have some of the tests and essays I wrote for uni prep, and I can hardly believe that's my own handwriting. I'd never have been able to take lecture notes the way I did with another writing implement. I just kinda let go after starting to work more and more with a computer, rather than longhand.

Ringing Rocks Park in Eastern PA would be a great place.  When you hit the rocks, they ring like a bell, so you don't even need a doorbell!  Talk about amenities.  Tongue

Sorry--gotta be in or very near P'Burgh.  Besides, see those 4 (?) people there?  That's 5 too many!  What's the point of living under a rock or in a cave if there's all these moronic tourists hangin' around??

Sheesh, what a grouch!  I'm trying to escape this socialist cesspool AKA Maryland.  I have nothing against your Pennsyltukian state parks.  The ones I've seen are beautiful.  It's just that, well, for a multitude of reasons none of which are anybody's business unless you want to pm me and and ask nicely in which case I'll bore you to death with the details, the particular rock/cave of our requirements has got to be in or near............Pittsburgh!  And, preferably not hairy.  Grin

I'd only consider moving westwards.

Why is that?

It's Shark Week on Discovery Channel in the U.S. Here's a neat thing where you can do a 360-degree camera turn with some underwater views, off the coast of Florida.

Happy Transfiguration! There was a blessing of vegetables today at church. Yay!
It's also the day they bombed Hiroshima. But iirc they brought a symbolic amount of grapes and pears or whatever today, although the grapes were most likely from Turkey, as the local grapes only ripen towards the end of August .butit was really a rushed affair, almost unnoticed.

I found a nice rock for you to try. If you like it we can set you up with a payment plan. If not you could always stay there as a base of operations while you search for something more suitable.

I think the American west -Rockies and Pacific coast- are beautiful.  Have two friends that moved to California this year and another one is following . Also Midwestern winters are way too long for my taste.

Now, that's looking pretty solid.  How many bedrooms?  Is it near P'Burgh?  Gotta be in or near P'Burgh.

I hate to break it to you, TheMath., but the disappearance of hobbits from this realm of reality has left a dire shortage of their holes.  For some reason or other, when they go, their holes close up and disappear.  I do, however, wish you the very best of luck.

Not sure where, I just googled for some in PA generally. I will try to find out from the realtor.

Also, google "hobbit hole" or "hobbit house," they are making a comeback  police

I appreciate your efforts.  You WILL be rewarded, especially if you find us something suitable in or near P'Burgh.

Hobbit holes (an unfortunate term, really) or houses are quite quaint and cuddly and roundish but the ceilings tend to be low.  I would consider them, perhaps, but I don't think they offer the security and privacy of a really good, spacious rock.  They tend, too, to be somewhat on the pricey side, I've heard.

We have a school in the PA state system of universities nicknamed "the rock," I will have to ask them if they have any resources dedicated to helping people such as yourself.
