Confusing the twelfth day of Christmas with Holy Thursday My true love gave to me: Twelve Gospel readings, Eleven babies screaming during liturgy, Ten candle grease stains, Nine hours of Te-ri-rem, Eight yia-yia's a-scolding, Seven deep prostrations, Six Readers reading, FIVE LOAVES WITH FISH! Four cantors chanting, Three deacons censing, Two icon mugs, and a vigil lamp and komboskiNI.

I must say at this point after this farce has ended that I only allowed this mass craziness because of its PURE RANDOMNESS!!! Only on these standards has this ludicrous song been allowed!! Just messing around...the song was hilarious. Very ingenious...I wouldn't have had the creativity to do something like that. Looks like the beer has been put on the back shelf. GOOD JOB GEORGE!!! You have achieved a level very few could even dream of. Time for me to start posting.

I wouldn't mind getting mine up too, but I don't know why it is important to me. I feel so intimidated on here, being new to everything and not wanting to speak up only to be wrong and have everyone make fun of me. OK, so that's not going to happen, but I do feel shy about posting.

The problem, of course, is that in running up your post count, you make the concept of a post count meaningless. So you're right back at square one. Or one thousand. But either way, you're no further ahead than the next person. Besides, being shy about posting is almost certainly a better approach than those of us who ramble on in almost every thead.

But either way, you're no further ahead than the next person. Oh, there are some that have crossed 3,000 posts where most of them, while seemingly thoughtful, have been noting but drivel and mindless questions that make me want to break something... Besides, being shy about posting is almost certainly a better approach than those of us who ramble on in almost every thead.
Amen. I wonder how irrelevant I am, now that I've managed to climb the "posting hierarchy" to 2nd place... Since I tend to spout off about anything I can get 10 words strung together on, I'm sure I at least should be shrugged off as a nuisance (whether or not I am is another story)...

the thing is that for me i'd just like to make 1 comment on most threads. Usually the thread goes to a place that doesn't interest me. Also the really frustrating thing is when I wanted to make a comment on something that is like 3 pages behind where everyone else is...GRRR!!

Also, I aint gona lie, I just want to break 1,000 posts...i don't care how stupid they are! You should ascribe your lust and greed for posts to some higher calling - like getting OC.net to 200,000. Then it would seem like you're doing it for the collective, for the greater good of 'Net Orthodoxy.

This thread seems like a good place to ask. I've been to both Antiochian and Greek Orthodox parishes' Into to Orthodox Church classes. At the Antiochian parish, they pronounce everything with a regular American accent. At the Greek parish, everything becomes exotic. Apocrypha becomes something I can't pronounce, as do several other words, which makes me feel silly. Does anyone else experience this?

BRAVO MAN!!!! GOOD JOB!! That was close...I almost thought someone was going to answer the accent question... Good thing SS99 was there to lampoon us back into shape!! Although, as funny as it is, I sometimes think people use accents and accentuate them just to be funny... How DID trampoline-ing become an olympic sport? ? What about that one sport where they move the huge round thing on the ice with brooms and stuff...I always forget what its called...

First of all, we play CURLING in gym class in Canada!!!
Second, since 1922 74% of all Canadian medals come from Curling in the winter olympics.
Third, it's a ROCK not a PUCK. A puck is that little black rubber thing they use in a game called HOCKEY!!!!
Fourth, curling is a gentlemans sport, for the winter, akin to golf in the summer.
Fifth, we Canadians are so good at it, because it is winter in Canada for 11 months of the every year. We now get one month of summer because of the global warming caused by our neighboUrs to the South (not mentioning any names - biggest polluters in the world per capita).
It is NOT Hilarious, IT IS A VERY SERIOUS GAME! In order that any Canadian graduate from highschool, they must demonstrate a level 4 skill grade (equivalent to being fluent in a foreign language), in curling.
Now, would you like me to spell that out for you avec mon accent Francais?

Wow...never knew anything about it...talk about a crash course... Didn't mean to offend bro, just totally forgot what it was called. I'm not gona lie...if that is your guys' version of golf then i'm never going to play a "leisure" sport in my life. Anyone who has to work that hard to move a rock...i have no words for... Are you serious about people having to have a proficiency at it?? If that is true, i'm moving to Canada, just for that!

LoL. This reminds me of a funny line from the episode of Futurama where Bender becomes an Ultimate Fighting Robot (spoof on the WWF) and goes up against a series of stereotyped opponents designed to be unpopular with the masses, including "The Foreigner," who yells to the crowd before his match:
"I'm not from around here. I have my own customs. Look at my CRAZY passport!"
At which point the crowd boos.

Aside from the standard curriculum, Canadian highschools only impose two other requirements on Canadian students that you don't find in America. A level 4 proficiency in Curling and an ability to skillfully carve whale blubber for Inuit consumption. Many students can't to the latter as it is quite difficult. I however am a master carver and I like to eat it too.

LOL. I lived in Utah before. Scratch what I wrote before. I looked it up instead. You can buy liquor any day of the week except Sunday at state liquor stores. You can read the rest of the weird laws there here. http://www.fortogden.com/utahliqlaw.html

Huh, I was always told that Utah had easy liquor laws for all the tourists . . . then again, I don't actually know anyone who's ever touristed there.
