I like Penn in interviews, though his BS show is meh to me...

The show blew.

And he is an arrogant simpleton. And a creep.

I also did not like his show, although from what I understand, he didn't really like it either.  I'm not going to judge someone based on how they present on TV.  No one on TV is themselves.  It is always a caricactured, distorted persona of themselves.  I like watching interviews and his podcasts.  He gives a much better, introspective look on his opinions and thought processes.  He is a bit arrogant, but I have met very few vocal atheists (or religious people for that matter) who are not.

Penn Gillette is my favorite atheist by far.
+1,000,000,000,000,000

(Assuming you mean "Penn Jillette" 8) :police:)

EDIT: Ayn Rand deserves some very high mention.
I strongly dislike Ayn Rand and disagree with Penn Jillette (sorry 'bout the mispelling) on just about anything, but I like how he thinks through what he says before he says it and isn't afraid to disagree with others who he may have much in common with.  He says what he thinks and lets the chips fall where they may.
They are atheists.  As far as atheists go Ayn Rand and Penn Jillette are about as good as they come.  But it wasn't intended to come off like it was saying much.

As for his show, it was as Asteriktos put it... Meh

The only thing I know about Ayn Rand is her quote about the individual being the smallest minority on earth.

She probably meant human, but what do I know? I don't think she's very well known over here.

I wasn't aware that my opinion on people was predicated on the level of my gregarious nature.  Would you like to give your opinion on who I should like more?

Christopher Hitchens. Outclasses Penn on all levels.

In his later years -- when he really became known as an atheist to the proles -- Hitchens dropped the claim to Marxism and became an outspoken proponent for the Iraq II war. He was often labeled a conservative commentator, but he disclaimed the label, saying his backing for such interventionism was in support of wars on Islamofascism or something. It's been six or seven years since I last read him, so I'm relying on my memories of what I read in 2005.
Blessed Nazarius practiced the ascetic life. His clothes were tattered. He wore his shoes without removing them for six years.

He remained what he sometimes called an socialist anti-authoritarian. He lamented that people didn't remember his support and urge for the US intervention into the genocide committed by the Serbian Orthodox against their Muslim neighbors.

He didn't want to be lumped into some blind atheist / anti-Islamicist reactionary camp.

he used to be a socialist, but he changed later.

he supported the iraq war and his stance on foreign policy placed him firmly in line with the neocons, although he was motivated more by his hatred of islam and muslisms. besides being a neocon shill, he was an imperalist that believed the ends justify the means.

he was too much of a drunk self aggrandizing misogynistic idiot for my taste.

Does anybody know who that Roissy idiot is ( I mean a name etc)? Asking because I've been coming across with the nickname  and  the pseudo-theories he's famous for-minor celebrity way- for a while now on a couple of reactionary blogs I check every now and then. His grand theory sounds like alpha males are a@##@ and therefore bang loads of females. betas are nice to them but rarely get to bang one or something like that.

I do some volunteer firefight work -I man it's prob against all rules and regulations etc -but our bosses have us do it nonetheless. I mean  opening stuck elevator doors from above the car itself, where you have to basically jump on top of the car into the pit. I do this almost every week and, should things go bad between me and my employers is something I plan using against them.
