If I found a man unattractive, I might not buy a bed from him. An attractive woman attached to the guy might be able to cancel out my previously-stated feelings in this matter. I sold my bed today. Money is good.

Went outside this morning to enjoy the day's first cigarette and got scared by a strange cat walking atop my fence. Do you think it was a sign from the Great Platypus? I don't want to be a victim of prelest, but it's really feeling like a sign.

It was a sign to switch to American Spirits, the Eco-Friendly Cigarette.

Forget the ecology.

They are not treated with accelerants and thus don't go up in smoke while you ain't smoking them.

If you are south enough to get Kentucky's Best (to ZZ, who I believe is in Ohio) they are similar and cheaper, if of lower grade and less tobacco.

I'm near Dayton, so pretty south. I've never heard of Kentucky's Best, but that doesn't mean anything other than I've always just mindlessly bought Marlboro Menthols. They're a lot cheaper here than in NY, that's for sure. Does Kentucky's Best have menthol?

Dayton ain't south.

Menthol? Marlboro Methols? You are dead to me.

Just spent another chunk of time cleaning out some of my storage center. Threw up again. What is it about old boxes that makes me run for the door?  Huh

Menthol is delicious, sir! I know my truth!

Also- You don't think Dayton is south? It's at least southwest.

For menthol to be delicious, mint would have to be delicious.  As mint is anything but delicious, you lose.

Are Antiochian Orthodox Christians commonly referred to as "Greek Orthodox"? Nobody I know in the world knows what Eastern Orthodoxy is but Greek Orthodoxy is fairly well known.

Perhaps not "commonly" but the Church is correctly named the "Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All The East". Here's a link.

Actually, "Greek" is an "Anglo-sensitive" translation.  Actually it is "Roman Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East."

Correct

My tour guide said it was from Turkish influence. I guess both Russians and Bavarians interacted with the Ottomans a lot.

I'm staring at a banana tree right in front of me 9 foot tall and stalk is green, leaves are green.  You must live up north.  But yes, if you would prefer, trees are "green" most of the time.  Leaves are part of the tree, the trunk and twigs aren't the whole of it.  You are one of those guys who corrects poetry:

"the plush green of the mountains glimmered like a rolling heap of emeralds"

response:  "mountains aren't green, they are rock and dirt"

Unless you live south of the border, I am much most definitely not up north.  I live in a land of sand and palm trees, of cacti and rattlesnakes, of desert flowers and sun stroke.

I stand corrected.  You actually do look at non-green mountains.  I still am probably south of you, though, unless you are in deep south Texas.

Hmm, you might be southwest of me then.  I'm in Arizona.

This is the silliest thread ever.  Trees are green...most of the time.   Roll Eyes

Actually, trees are usually brown.  Leaves are green most of the time.

No, I'm far far southeast of you, the land of sunshine, pristine waters, and too many redlights at this point (but still better than those northerners in Orlando).

Buffalo sounds like an uncivilized place to live.  James and I even hear rumors of ice storms.  You should at least move to a more liveable place.  You can at least move down south to a place up north, like North Carolina or Colorado.

Dust storms and thunder storms are the only kind of storm I've experienced, myself.  I wonder if this "ice storm" isn't just a myth.  No one's yet proven to me that ice can exist outside a freezer for very long to begin with.

You don't think Dayton is south? It's at least southwest.

You.

Me.

Questions?

Not really. I still think it's obviously south. You're definitely south-er, but it's not like Dayton is chilling with Toledo.

Bananas don't grow on trees, but rather on herbaceous plants. Yes, I've lived where they grow - we had lots in our yard.

Now you should see my bamboo this year - I've had a couple of shoots stretch up at least twenty feet.

Something I've learned while I've been here:

If you make a post on a controversial topic at OC.net and get 10 replies (as an example), you are likely to find at least 11 opinions in those posts.

Probably true. Though if I'm not one of the 10 posters, the opinions probably drops to 7 or 8  Wink

I was thinking something along those same lines when I saw you had the latest reply to this topic.
