There are "legendary" elements in the saint IIRC.
Saint Chuck Norris?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qga5eONXU_4Yeah! Just waiting for my final grades. Filling out an application for the school I'm hoping to transfer to this fall, and a conundrum presents itself: It's a private school (Seventh Day Adventist affiliated, I believe), so it's asking me my religion. What to put? The ever-generic "Christian"?

Can someone tell me who that saint was that was a religious figure but later became canonzied as a saint?
I think that describes most of our saints. I thought this was a joke. Sort of like asking "Can someone tell me who that doctor was that was a grad student but later received their doctorate?"

I certainly wouldn't expect it to hinder my acceptance at all. That's not what I meant. I should have been more clear, my bad. I was baptized in the RCC as an infant to appease my dad's family. Do I put Catholic since it is technically the Church of my baptism? I was raised Protestant, and indeed spent 23 years of my life a passionate Protestant even though I've decidedly left. Do I put Non-denominational? At this point in my faith journey, I'm leaning pretty heavily towards Orthodoxy, but I am not yet Orthodox. Do I pre-emptively put Orthodox? That's my conundrum. And why I'll probably just put "Christian". Simpler.

So I got accepted into a writing workshop in Antioch that's apparently pretty exclusive. That's good. The bad part is I need a 20 page writing sample for everyone else to critique, and I don't have anything in the present that's that long or suitable for expansion to that length. So now I'm caffeinating the hell out of myself and blasting Led Zeppelin, hoping to awake some latent writing genius. The technique has worked for me in the past, but we're gonna run out of coffee eventually, and people will be curious about who's drinking it at 1:00 AM. Coffee also makes it hard to focus on the creative activity it's supposed to stimulate. So yeah, I really hope I can pull this off.

Ohio. Decently well-regarded area school.
Oh you have never heard me talk about Antioch / Yellow Springs. Let's hear it. Here or elsewhere. Anyway, while I'm decent enough at writing, it turns out I kind of suck at reading. Twenty pages was the maximum length. I think I'll use a six-page short story I wrote a while back.

I will have to give you the how to survive Antioch without becoming a Trust Fund Liberal with a MFA in Pottery guide. First rule, whatever you. Don't. Don't. Don't. Touch. One. Of. The. Community. It's the slippery slope into the abyss of being caught within the time shifted world of Antioch where everyone still thinks they are politically relevant and some demiurge has convinced the rest of the world otherwise.

You suck at reading? I've had reading comprehension problems for years, all the way back to elementary school. I was never "taught" properly.
Not sure how to fix that. I'll read 20 pages in a book and forget what I was reading.

Thanks. I actually can't ride a bike, so that part shouldn't be an issue. You suck at reading? I've had reading comprehension problems for years, all the way back to elementary school. I actually do pretty well on the reading comprehension parts of standardized tests. I just completely fudged proper interpretation of that email for some reason.

Let me ask a question.
When you get married, do you end up just letting yourself go?

I feel so left out of this thread. Don't feel left out! Feel included. Ah, Yellow Springs... A short jaunt down the road for this gal. What part of Ohio are you in, that person? If you don't mind me asking. Let me ask a question.
When you get married, do you end up just letting yourself go?
Some people do, some people don't. Have you let yourself go pre-marriage?
