Pawn Stars isn't the best show on TV (we all know that Mad Men is), but it is an enjoyable show.

Mad Men is overblown tripe.

I'd rather watch the video about Friday on loop for an hour than sit through that garbage.

I can't believe some of the stuff I've said 4 years ago on this board.  Today, I'm glad I say less although I'd like to reach 8,000 posts while continuing to lower my posts per day.  Beyond that, I'm not sure if I have another 1,500 posts left in me for the next milestone.

Your avg. posts per day is still higher than mine... just set your goal and say: "yes I can!"  Cool

My goal is 4.75 posts per day by the end of 2012.

One of the local AM radio shows here in Atlanta had some guy who was Greek Orthodox stop by. Had a nice discussion about Orthodoxy. Nothing too in depth or theological, but it was nice to hear about it.

Can anyone find the recent post on here saying "Protestantism caused marriage to be removed as a sacrament into a government affair" Or something like that. Basically it was a criticsm that if there was no such thing as Protestantism, then the government would have no laws or even have a civil union.

I would like to keep that in my text file of quotable quotes here and something I want to research a little bit more on.

That awkward moment when you compliment the cuteness of your neighbor's dog, and she asks if you want him...

Uh... No? But thanks for making me feel guilty for turning down your animal! Yeesh.

My prepared answer for that situation: No, thank you. I couldn't possibly give him the good care that he deserves.

I used to teach in a rural area where all the kids had kittens to give away. After a while, they quit asking. Here's how it went: "Mr M, do you want a kitten?" "No, thank you. We're not planning a barbecue this weekend." (note the absence of a smiley)

Ahh yes, the 5th American Gospel!

- Colored cover (color differs depending on version)
- Gold edged pages (if newer version)
- Prayers (differs depending on version)
- Theological terminology (differs according to version)
- Roman Catholic Mythology (except in newer versions)

Best prayer book there is IMO.

Nice! I was just like, "No thanks, I already have two." It was bizarre though.

Something you will never use because its impossible to figure out where a prayer ends and if its really 40 pages long.

And I hate Dr. Pepper too.

So you are stuck on a deserted island with minimal supplies and you are allowed to pick three people to be with you. Who do you pick? Choose wisely. I'll take Cody Lundin because he is an amazing survivalist, Dr. Oz since I'll need a doctor in case anyone hurts themselves and an attractive Orthodox female to repopulate the island with. My survival strategy: build a huge luxurious treehouse, get some monkey butlers, build a huge fishnet and set it up a mile or two offshore with a raft and repopulate the island into an Orthodox utopian master-race of island people.

Wilson... now that I think about it, he had more character development than 99% of characters created these days. Consider this scene for example. So subtle, you can barely tell he's alive, yet Hanks plays off the energy Wilson is creating and they forge a breathtakingly powerful moment of cinema history!

(only half kidding  Grin )

Though I have to say, watching the audio commentary for Castaway, and hearing about all the tricks and editing in post that they did... it completely ruined the movie for me.

I still tear up at the end though.

Do not EVER take Zinc on an empty stomach.  I took a 50mg zinc capsule bc I read a couple different places that it could actually help with an upset stomach.  Well, I wont go into much detail, but lets just say my body rejected it in every way possible for about an hour.  One of the worst experiences of my life.
