How geeks had fun torturing their geek friends 20 years ago...

Justin: Hey John, what does this "format c:" thing do?
John: Nooooooo! Not again!
Justin: Ok, ok, take a chill pill!  Anyway, the thing you've been downloading for two hours is at 97%, can I make a phone call?
John: Nooooooo!

Now this is random. I found an Ethiopian Baptismal cross from my girlfriend's chest of drawers. Since my own Baptismal cross's it's nice to have another one until I get it repaired.

One could argue that in my Protestant days I was so focused on such things that my mind was in the same general space that the minds of people living in Jerusalem occupy. That's as close as I've come, though.

I'm going to have to go out to get some food and soda from Walmart. But the Pirates are on and I want to listen to them. On the other hand, I can listen in the car. But what if the reception isn't good? Or what if I have to sit in the parking lot listening? But I'm just sitting here listening anyway? I've been putting off my reading. I'm hungry. I have diet Sunkist in front of me. I think I'll go to the store. If I can't listen to the Pirates, well somehow I'll muddle through the rest of my life. But now I wonder... should I buy a new game while I'm at Walmart? Perhaps. But that's money. Money I don't have. Well technically I have but I'm supposed to be saving it. What will I do?

RC Grandmother: James, why didn't you go to Church today? It's like the main day.
Me: My Church doesn't celebrate Easter until next week, we use an older calendar. But happy Easter anyway!
RC Grandmother: Oh yeah, you follow a different religion and don't believe in Easter, oh well.

So after lunch/dinner today my 7 year old Nephew pulls out his iPod and asks me what I want to hear.

"Got any Megadeth?" I joked.

He confusedly laughed and giggled "Huh? No!!!  I only have kids music!"

"Oh," I replied, "Got the theme song from Ducktales?"

"What?"

"Um... He-man? G.I. Joe? Transformers?"

"Um... no... I have Lady Gaga... Katy Perry..."  (I don't remember the other names).

Since when did Katy Perry and Lady Gaga become kids music?  Cheesy

So why didn't you go to Church? It's Sunday - and Palm Sunday at that.

The fact that I still do not have my license, my Protestant parents are the ones who I rely on to take me to Church and they did not want to take me to Church in the morning on western Easter, which they celebrate.

Should've gone with them. They may have reciprocated.  Smiley

Tuned into a random AM station while driving and heard Kenny Rogers' "The Gambler". Life is good.

I've felt the same way about her. I find I can watch her videos for hours on end so long as she's not singing. Especially the one where she does push-ups.

I want to ask my Priest my questions about free-will but I am afraid that if I do he will delay my Baptism and extend my catechism even longer because he'll think I'm not ready. What do I do?

You ask your priest questions about free-will.

Ask your priest the questions you want to ask, and don't worry about how he will respond.

You have been raising some interesting questions James.

When are you to be received?

It seems not uncommon that the more "intellectual" of catechumens tend to really fret over certain theological issues before their reception.

I know I did.

I was supposed to be received this Holy Saturday but my Priest delayed it because he wants me to attend Church more and 'participate' in the Holy life of the Church more often. He's taking it at a slow pace because I cannot attend as often as I would like because I'm dependent on my parents to take me to Church. I'm afraid now that if I ask him about a bunch of questions and doubts I am having, he will dely it even longer.

This is what I figured from some of your posts. I'll return later tonight perhaps to put up a tentative "answer" to the question in your one thread about Free Will and the like. I didn't want to go in assuming the above was the case and give offense by my answer.

Your situation and your question are tied together.

Hang in there buddy.
