Dear Brothers and Sisters!
We are Russian Orthodox believers and appeal for your charity and financial or any other help to one of Russian monasteries - St. John Theologian Macarovskiy Monastery in Saransk. Nowadays it stays in hard financial position, which arose after extensive restoration works that have been carried out for a few years.
On the pictures attached you can see the old boiler house, which is situated at the territory of the Monastery. The brethren of St. John Theologian Macarovskiy Monastery plans to make a hotel for pilgrim there, as far as presently there is no place where people could stay for a night there.
This is the main and most expensive undertaking. Everything is rotten there. They are to make a new roof, renew the front and side elevation, pave the ground with asphalt, make bus parking at the gate and erect the wall around the building to protect it from local hooligans.
The temple on the pictures is situated under St. John Theologian temple and is dated by 1704. It requires major repairs.
These construction works cost nearly $30 000. If you cannot help, may be you know somebody, who can. The brethren of the monastery values even a small sum of money as a great contribution. And they’ll thank you for every your prayer and comparison to the brethren of St. John Theologian Macarovskiy Monastery.
If you speck Russian, kindly go to the web-site of St. John Theologian Macarovskiy Monastery http://www.johntheolog.narod.ru/ to learn more about this cloister and get its banking detail. You can also email Father Spiridon jtmon@yandex.ru  and ask him your questions.
If don’t speak Russian, please email us in English gergali@yandex.ru or galina@oligma.net , we shall translate your message and resend it to Father Spiridon.
Please, support our action dedicated to strengthening of Orthodox Church in the world.

Praying for success of any your good beginning,
Orthodox believers Marina and Galina from Russia.
Fr. David

The administrators and moderators of OC.net are not aware of, and therefore do not support, the veracity of this claim.  Any posters desiring to offer financial support for this endeavor do so of their own will and after doing their own research regarding the truthfulness of the above poster's claim, understanding that this site is not to be held responsible in the event that the petition for money turns out to be a scam.

Thanks for doing that Pedro. So I guess the policy is no solicitations for money for yourself or others, but if you know of a critical need you may email the global moderators for a decision (to be deliberated in the mod forum)?
