Gran Torino

Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood?  How was that funny, I thought it was quite sad.  Unless you find being a "gangsta" quite comical.. in which case, then I understand.

I found "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" with Adam Sandler and Kevin James to be hillarious.  I was literally laughing like every 5 minutes..

then "Grown Ups" was another good one with Adam Sandler in it..

Interesting selection... Of course, some of the things GySgt Hartman says in his first interaction with his recruits are listed among the top movie insults of all time. Extremely funny in a rather perverted sort of way.

Huh, good point. You know, if I was making a list of my favorite movies (generally) it'd make the list, yet I didn't think of it as a "funny movie". That's just crazy.

Anybody want a peanut?  Grin

EDIT--Someone mentioned Dodgeball, that's definitely a movie that would make my list if I were posting a new one today. Love that movie now.

You said the same thing yesterday. By now, there is no excuse. One more day, and you lose your Bruce Campbell fan status. Don't let this happen. The price is too great! The universe is counting on you!

It's a $2.99 rental from Amazon Instant Video. You'd have to wait for the DVD to arrive if you ordered it from Netflix.

I think the idea is that they have been out there a loooooooooooong time..Way too long. Nothing works. Hair is long. They live in the meat locker because the crew quarters are damaged. The commander is dead, sort of. They put him in suspended animation and can ask him a question or two if they really need to. He's expansive with his answers due to being dead and all..Oh and they have an Alien infestation ( Beach Ball with feet) that they cant get rid of..Precursor to "Alien" which he made later when he grew up..

Okay..one last clip:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luaRtGn2tsI&NR=1

One movie I haven't seen mentioned yet is..... The Fifth Element!

Korben Dallas: We need to find the leader, Mangalores won't fight without the leader.
Aknot: One more shot, and we start killing hostages!
Korben Dallas: That's the leader.
Aknot: Send someone to negotiate.
Fog: [as Dallas looks at him] Uh, I-I've never negotiated before.
Korben Dallas: Do you mind if I try?
Fog: No, sure, sure, sure.
[shouts]
Fog: We're sending somebody in to negotiate!
[Corben walks into the room and shoots Aknot between the eyes. As he falls, the other Mangalores drop their weapons and bow over him, keening]
Korben Dallas: Anybody else want to negotiate?
Fog: Wh-where did he learn to n-negotiate like that?
President Lindberg: [looking at General Munro] I wonder.

The movie is pure comedy platinum.

His other movies tank.

His greatest work is his Robert Goulet schtick on Conan.

Odd. I liked Blades of Glory, but I think Anchorman and Zoolander are easily better Ferrell films.

"Tropic Thunder". It breaks down towards the end but very very funny. I hate Ben Stiller but he is surrounded by really good actors so it works.

Oh and my wife has been trying to get me to watch" Dirty Rotten Scoundrels". I mentioned this thread and that several people listed it as top 10 funny so we watched it last night.

Someone here owes me back 90 minutes of my life.

Could have done without Jennifer Aniston, though.

Like everything, really.
