I broke my cross
« on: August 01, 2019, 05:42:34 PM »
What do I do with it?  It's wooden, and the part of it that forms the hole for the little jewelry ring to go through actually broke; I think super glue would be asking to lose it.  Do I just get another one and have it blessed again?  I'm sad.
Is any of the above Orthodox?  I have no idea, so there’s that.

I'd save it and keep the pieces at my icon corner.  I'm not sure if you're sensitive to metal, but it will last longer.

If you cannot completely fix the old one, then get a new cross and have it blessed.  Keep the original one like Hecma says in the icon corner.

I just prefer wood; I think it's prettier.  I'll go poking around soon, though; I do need something that won't break.

You can burn it or bury it. Or let it rot some place that’s “clean”  That’s how Romanians disposed of broken or unusable religious items and paraphernalia.

Have a look here. At those prices, you could even buy two or three to offset the shipping cost.

Thanks for the suggestions!  I like one of those in particular, hecma.  I may get it one day.  For now, I decided to tempt fate and get another cross similar to the one I broke.   :)
