Hello,

Does anyone have any suggestions of an English-speaking male monastery in the USA to visit with the intentions of staying at?

Thanks,

Nick

Do you mean overnight, or permanently?

Anyway, I would suggest St. Tikhons in South Canaan, PA.

Recognizing that 4 of the jurisdictions listed are not in communion with the Orthodox Church, that's a nice resource.

Do you mean TOC, RAOC, HOCNA and Milan Synod?  That's the four I count.

I would like to stay permanently.  I've checked the all the orthodox monastery listing sites, so I have a few ideas.  I was just wondering if anyone has any one specific monastery they have visited that they really thought highly of.

Whether or not you stay permanently will be up to the head of the monastery, so I wouldnt worry too much about which one. Contact one in communion with the Church and ask them what your first steps need to be. Ask them, not us.

I still suggest St. Tikhon's as they are english speaking and have facilities to stay in while discerning whether or not God wants you to become a monastic.
