We are responsible to judge things in this life.
« on: February 27, 2019, 01:45:46 AM »
Paul said the saints will will judge the world
We are to warn sinners but show love

It is important not to approve of those who practice those things but deem them worthy of judgement however not judging them because that implies knowing for sure. So Jesus said if anyone does not believe I do not judge him now for I came to save the world. But His word will judge on that day
Jesus means He does not hate any when He means judge. He judges action. He judged the Pharisees but He didn’t hate any because he judged with righteous judgement and he did not condemn them to hell while they were alive because they could repent. He judged the action and said if any actually practiced sin to death will die but he never revealed any did though it is evident a person may have commited but we don’t know

Jesus said judge with righteous judgement

Like John the Baptist we have responsibility to judge the actions of people and as St. John chrysostom said if you see someone blaspheming you should correct the person. We should be guardians of the world. However it should be taken wisely if it will lead to actual correction as Solomon said correct a scoffer and he will hate you. It should not be forced and casting your pearls before swine but you must in some manner let them know if even from a distance their standing before God

Therefore we should judge actors to lead them to repentance however we must not abuse this and be proud knowing their position is higher than you though you must not respect heir position
You must not humiliate them and bring them down the goal is to correct them

Nice post.

From Ephesians, Ch. 4:

"11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [e]edifying of the body of Christ, 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14 that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— 16 from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love."

Excellent post.

Definitely judge right from wrong, and direct people towards salvation, but, do so without belittling or humiliating.
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.
—St. Isaac of Syria

The truth is we have to say the truth even though it is costly. Entertainment and acting has always been against God from the beginning of the world and Jesus way is narrow. There is no room to tolerate any sin and so some think Christians should leave acting which they can to repent later. However you may be able to be an actor and not do sins. Play a role where you don’t do any sins but some disagree if you can be without sin if others are sinning even if the sin is small. If you are not doing sins and the movie is not too bad it may be ok but I don’t know. People have to work out their salvation for themselves
Because actors make a lot of money they must not live a self indulgent lifestyle

Christ did not come to give us an easy life on earth so if something is not Gods will and you have to compromise or it is difficult then you must not pursue it
This causes many to leave acting for Jesus. We don’t need more movies. No movie should be made except that which is completely moral. Followers of Jesus should work on family and Christian movies only. But no one needs to enter Hollywood as Christians have knowledge to make movies already not saying it is definitely wrong to work with Hollywood on clean movies but some in Hollywood may think you don’t belong there and not repent but that is their problem
