When people start saying that Nestorius is "okay" (cuz obviously, being a "nice guy" makes one Orthodox), then it's time to start re-thinking ecclesiology.

I don't like all this talk of schismatics in the first place. I'm a non-Chalcedonian and there is nothing of the Oriental Orthodox Churches that is "unOrthodox".

Well, there is enough evidence that teh Christology of the OO Church is Orthodox (though the question of their being schismatic still remains). But Nestorius is a whole new can of worms......

The Assyrian Church of the East, as far as I know, is no longer Nestorian.

Couldnt Nestorius have been a really nice heretic? I mean, dont we all know really nice people in our lives who believe heretical things?
In the past, when there was a problem either politically or theologically with an erroneous practice in the Church, those who opposed it might have been in minority. They also never, ever LEFT the Church in protest, but worked and prayed within her gates. And the Truth will prevail; it always has and it always will. Those who leave the Church are removing themselves from the Body and allowing the gates of Hell to prevail against them. God help schismatics.

Amen choirfiend. We must not allow our lack of knowledge to conflict with God's will for the church. We are ignorant and retched and the Holy Fathers knew much more than us. Let us aspire in constant struggle and humility against ourselves when we find ourselves ignorant of certain knowlege, rather than making a fuss at everything that we don't agree with.

Although I have heard that some of the Old Believers go to other churches as well. I don't think they typically can take communion with us though. Hence the term Schizmatic.
