Father Kondratick, along with Archpriest Basil Summer and a group of 12 laypeople from the Orthodox Church in America visited the Representation Church where its Dean, Archimandrite Zacchaeus was able to share with them information about the life and mission of the parish. St. Catherine's parish, in addition to being the Representation or 'Embassy' Church of the Orthodox Church in America to the Moscow Patriarchate is also a thriving and very active parish community. The parish has many different activities ranging from Adult Bible Study and Catechism to Children's Sunday School and Choir, and even such social outreach as weekly Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in both Russian and English. The parish hopes to open a soup kitchen to feed the hungry in the near future.
During their visit, the delegation was also able to hear the needs of the parish, and it is hoped that they will bring this information back to their parishes in the United States and raise the awareness of the importance of the mission of St. Catherine's to the faithful clergy and laity of the OCA.
